AXEL We were considering getting a dog for about ten years. Finally, we became proud first time dog owners. Axel (boxer and basset hound mix, as a DNA test showed) is about two years now and he was adopted from the Cedar Bend Humane Society last fall. Karen started with a house call when she came to our home to make sure everything is set up correctly for Axel; which was critical being that we are fist time dog owners. She gave us some invaluable input about care for him, his immediate surroundings, and training. Then, Axel began going to doggy daycare. The progress with Axel has been evident and impressive - instead of coming home simply tired and warn out from running around, he is now remembering training and positive behaviors. Additionally, if we ever have to leave town and leave Axel behind, we know he is happy and content and well taken care of at PetAgreed. Finally, the staff is always ready to help or give advice - either on the phone or in person. Now Axel is getting exactly what he needs from both PetAgreed and his owners - exercise, parenting, and love. Thank you Karen, Annalea, Shawna and the rest of the PetAgreed staff! any people say how they wish they could go on vacation and not worry about their dog’s emotional needs. Dogs can get very stressed and depressed when their family travels on vacation. (Dogs won’t eat and can get diarrhea for a few days) TIPS ON BOARDING YOUR PET:

• Plan ahead; call the place and make an appointment to bring your dog to tour the facility.

• Get familiar; visit several times so your dog is relaxed when you are gone.

• References; ask for references and call them. • Website; are they professional? • Credentials; how long have they been in business? • Is the facility insured and bonded? • What is their emergency policy? • What emergency vet do they use? • When are pick up and drop off times? Most

places won’t let you pick up on Sundays. • Do they require vaccination records and fecal

results? If not your dog could be exposed to unprotected dogs.

• How many times a day will your dog get let out and for how long? Most places come for short 10 min potty breaks 2 times a day.

• Education; are they educated in pet care and behavior? (You don’t want to come home to new “bad” behaviors.)

• Is boarding right for your pet? Other options are private boarding (in your home).

• A good friend or neighbor may be the best solution for your pets. Trade off sitting for each other.

Just like getting care for children, don’t go cheap, you get what you pay for. When the time comes for you to go, Fido will feel right at home. Less stress for your dog and less worry for you!
