Do you get discouraged in other agencies when you notice that they pick favorites, regardless of how hard the other models try? Or do you keep trying, knowing your efforts won’t be seen?

It does annoy me, when I see models who are picked as “favorites” just because of the fact they’re friends with the owner(s) but there’s nothing that can be done as it’s not your agency. But it never ever stops me trying. I take part in modeling activities on IMVU for fun, as a hobby. If someone notices my efforts then great, if not it really doesn’t bother me.

Do you think it is fair that judges and owners are able to compete for prizes the way that other models do?

Well it depends I guess. I mean two of my three co owners’ model on Spot Light regularly. But they were models first. I think it’s okay, as long as they do not judge

themselves. For example, if CandidChaos is helping me judge and she has taken part in the competition also, she doesn’t judge here own picture, she leaves it blank. I then give her picture to another co owner to judge or another agency owner I’m friends with. If it submit my own picture in any Spot Light competitions, it’s just because I’m bored lol. I don’t send mines off to Amber for Editing or judging. But if owners and co owners are taking part and judging their own pictures, then that ‘s unfair and shouldn’t happen.

How do you ladies find the time to keep things going? Like for Kat, running the agency, and for Amber, editing everything and now working on the second magazine for Spot Light?

I don’t go to school anymore, I finished it and I currently don’t work either. But I do look after abandoned and

abused guinea pigs and rabbits. So for me I get up really early to do stuff of Spot Light. I usually try and do it all in one sitting, but if not, I do half of it in the morning and half at night. No matter what, I always make time for Spot Light; I created it so it’s my responsibility and duty to make sure I get it done.

Did it take a long time for Spot-light to finally take off?

Spot Light has been around for about 4-5 years. I had it on and off for the first 1-2 years as I was busy with school. But in 2010 I finally found time for it and was able to commit to it. Spot Light started quite small, around 20 models in total. But only in the last year has Spot Light started to grow bigger and become more known to models on Spot Light.

Were you nervous about creating your own agency?

I guess I was, but I was more excited about it than nervous.

What made you want to become an agency owner?

I worked in many, many places before I even thought about making Spot Light. I wasn’t really happy with how a lot of places ran themselves. I noticed a lot of negativity towards “new models“ or “newbies“. I didn’t think it was fair; everyone deserves a chance. I also didn’t appreciate favoritism towards agency owners friends and how serious and stuck up a lot owners were. I wanted to make an agency like them, with competitions and everything else but I wanted it to be fun, enjoyable, and for everyone, not matter if you’re a new models, new IMVU member

or experienced.

Is it hard running your own agency?

Yes and no. Some days it’s super easy as I’ve been do-ing it for ages now. But there are times when it’s extremely hard. But I just keep pushing on and keep going no matter how hard or how time con-suming.

When did you start modeling and what made you create Spot Light?

I started modeling a way back in 2007 (almost 6 years ago). *Feels old* I started as my friend opened up an agency and introduced me to modeling. Like I answered before, I didn’t like how most places were being run and I wanted to make a place fun and enjoyable for everyone and hopefully I’ve achieved that.

How have you been able to make Spot Light so successful?

To be honest I really don’t know. I guess it’s because I’m always trying my best to come up with new ideas all the time. I also never leave Spot Light inactive as I think this is a big no, no. Spot Light accepts, younger, older, new models, experienced models, new IMVU members, AP holders, male, female, every style etc. So, I guess since we accept everyone it means more people are likely to join. And the more we will grow and expand.

How do you ladies find the time to keep things going? Like for Kat, running the agency, and for Amber, editing everything and now working on the second magazine for Spot Light?

It depends. When I have more free time I can usually just sit down and get a lot if not all of my editing done. When I’m busier I will do a little work each day. It also helps that I can function on little sleep so, I’ll sometimes stay up really late doing edits and working on the magazine.

What made you want to become an editor?

I’ve always loved art and when I first started editing I had only recently discovered how awesome it is working on the computer and I wanted to do it all the time. When I joined IMVU I got introduced to avatar editing and it was SO much fun! So, I did a lot of DPs and when Kathleen asked for sign ups for group picture editing I jumped at the

chance to do more and as a result I’ve gotten so much better and learned so much. So, long story short, I wanted to be an editor because it was fun and a learning opportunity.

Who and what are you insire by in Modeing?

A lot of my inspiration comes from the things around me. The things on IMVU that inspire me would be other models; I’ve gotten many ideas and such from editing models’ screenies and working with them in modeling groups, I’m inspired by the devs on here as well, the different fashions, styles, patterns and colors and everything. I’m also inspired by things I see in RL, like the fashion trends and even random people I see walking around in something really cute or edgy.

A New Year’s resolution is a commitment that a person makes to one or more personal goals, projects, or the reforming of a habit. A key element to a New Year’s resolution that sets it apart from other resolutions is that it is made in anticipation of the New Year and new beginnings. So, let’s take a look at what some of our models have planned for the new year.

“My resolutions are to cut down on caffiene...I get too jittery! 8D”

“Doing my homework xD”

“Learn to love myself.“

“to become a better model and performer c:”

“I resolve to be nicer to my friends and family. :3

“To become a better artist and get closer to my goal of becoming a professional graphic designer”

“My new year’s resolution for 2013 is to focus on myself but also help my family the best I can. This past year has been crazy and I haven’t really done much for myself. I don’t mind that at all...I’m actually the type that would rather do for others than myself but it does effect me negatively when things lack like my health or my sanity lol. So doing things for myself is my resolution (:”

“My resolution is to graduate from high school and get into the college of my dreams!”

“Lose a few pounds :)”

What amazing resolutions! Good luck to all of you in this new year! Besides reaching your goals, what else are you looking forward to in 2013?

“I’m looking for-ward to it not be-ing the end of the world, and laugh-ing at the people who thought so. xP”

“Meeting new people and living life to the fullest!”

“Finishing school.”

“to upgrade from “new model” to “model” and so on.”

“I’m looking for-ward to the world not ending in 2012! 8D”

“New art classes :]!”

“Hmm...in 2013 I’m looking for-ward to seeing my little broth-er graduate high school in June. It’s crazy how time flies and how grown up he is. He’ll be 18 in February and all I can do is think back to when he was short, sweet, and just my little brother. Now he’s tall, basically a man, and doing things on his own. I know for sure that I’m going to cry when they say his name to walk across that stage lol.”

“Being a senior in high school.”
