Dear Friends In Christ,

News about

Jamaica Christian Boys H

If

Way T

Jama

ica,

The Bakery truck didn t

come

today so Jim decided to

make some

muffins

the boys' breakfast. I

wish

you

could see the kitchen

Every

flour

is everywhere. But I must admit

there

is a nice a

floating into

the office

at

this midnight hour.

We

have

some

exciting

news this

month - oh

there is

so much to

tell

in

one l i t t le let ter . First

of

all let

me

say

that

we

know there

has been

adverse news in the

U.S.

about Jamaica.

Much

of it is exaggerated, som

However, at this moment, although we have had some tense times, we are

going to panic and leave.

We

are definitely putting double efforts int

strengthening

the

church. And th is is

our

news.

The little village of James

Mt,

just at the foot of our Sun Mt

Camp

hil

has

long been in

need

of a church.   ow at last we

have

found a piece o

land that

we

can

buy

for ^000.00.

The

people are about to build a

muc

needed school for themselves, having

had

a piece of land donated for the

purpose._

They have

asked us to help

them.

V e jumped

at

the chance to

this believing that If we assist

them

in having a school we will gain t

goodwill and should find

establishing

a church there

much

easier.

So

off to

work we went. So

far

we have gotten

the

promise

of sand

and

paint, and transportation. And best of all, tentatively a gift

from

U.

A.I. D We were really excited when we came out of the Embassy today.

In

the

meantime, Jim

has

doubled

efforts at Meadovybrook

and

last

Sunday

saw all chairs

filled. We

have baptized three adults so far this year.

Sunday

School

has increased

20

and

one

new

class

was

added.

One

of our

whom we

have

been teaching

for two years now is ready to take the minis

at James Mt with our guidance. The church at Broadleaf Is growing

treme

dously

under

ordained-about a

year ago,

for the

there.

ten

years. And

it s

trouble

when they fill. Like

now In

our yard Well, we

had

it hauled away by tanker and the pit

and cleaned.

But

the bill will

be about   300.00

added to

an

budget. Gasoline is now   2.20 per gallon.

Ue

got our

financial report last night.

Thank

you

so

very

much

for

your

loving support for January. It s so encouraging. We

sorely

miss going

the P.O. to get your letters one by one

but

it is

much

safer this way.

Please help us

with

our

new

challenge at James

Dear Faiiily - our

beautiful

family of friends.

Oh,

there was joy

unspeakable

in my heart as the plane wheels rolled to a stop at

ou

airstrip in Jamaica

God

had granted us a safe

and

wonderful trip

and

prayed

and

sang our prayer of thanksgiving. Jim met me

at

the

Customs gate

and kissed

me three

times before we reached the car...he looked really qlad to have me back. So our re

joicing

was

mutual.

HO^ to begin to say thank you is our big problem. On the wharf is a

new

Ford pick-up

truck provided

by

all of you wh o helped so wonderfully with our expenses. We still h

to raise

funds

to

pay

the

duty on it,

so please

pray

with

us

over this.

And we

al l

j

in saying thanks for the truck as

it has

k wheel drive for those heavy trips to Sun M

and should

give

us a big l i f t In the work.

THANK

YOU . . .for the love and

interest shown

us all along the way...for the showers o

food Items (nearly 100 pounds of peanut butter ) for the

warm

hospitality, meals,

fun

trips to Disney, Sea World, etc,..for receptions and dinners in our honor, for

new

Sun

for slipping

away

with our car to fill it with gasolIne...for many other

gifts. And

but not least for so patiently listening to our story of God s wonderful answer to pr

in this work. M ay the Lord bless you for each and every gift of love. Our

that we

could not have seen

all

of you.

AT

HOME Jim and Grandma had a busy time with an epidemic of Dengue Fever that visited

She took a

JULY

promises excitement. A working group of some 28 people plan

They

plan to paint our new buildings an

Sun Mountain Grand Opening was

just

was far too much work to

be

done.

So

Brownstown Christian Church in Indiana

to

how

they

worked...mixing

cement,

painting

the walls and building a lovely fireplace In Embassy Hall. They started on

Tues

day at day break and by Saturday the job was over.

That was the crowning day. The Jamaica Defence Force sent out the 1st Batalllon

brilliant

red coats with gold trim. Yes

musicians

and their

music

was

magnificent.

And

there

were

prominent speakers and a huge anniversary

We
