Do’s

Spin counter clockwise (for right handers) and clockwise (for left handers) one and a half times to throw.

Be alert to your surroundings.

Touch the inside of the circle’s rim.

Make the discus land within a 34.92-degree sector.

Throw the discus within 1 minute of stepping into the circle.

Don’ts

Do not touch the top of the ring.

Do not touch the ground outside the throwing area during throwing attempts.

Do not touch the ground outside the throwing area before the discus touches the ground.

Do not drop the discus outside the throwing area during the initial swings.

Do not tape your fingers unless covering an injury.
