“Social Media Safety—How Do We
Protect Our Children?” Are your children using Facebook? Do you
know what sites your children are viewing?
Heard about cyber bullying? Are you aware
employers scan social media sites?
Penrith Police and local Primary and High
Schools are together presenting and
supporting two important Community Forums
on Social Media Safety. As parents we need
to know how we can protect our children from
predators and teach them protective
behaviours. What all of us don‟t want is our
children tagged for life by what they put
online. Forums will be held on Wednesday
30th May at Cranebrook High Hall from 7-8pm
and Jamison High Hall on 6th June at 7-8pm.
Contact Cranebrook High School to RSVP. A
very worthwhile information evening. (See flyer
page 3).
Raising Asthma Awareness—No Sleepy Issue
Students K-6 donned their PJ‟s in all shapes
and sizes on Monday 28th May. Fluffy
slippers and many bright coloured PJ‟s helped
raise funds and awareness for Asthma in our
School Community. Many thanks to all
students who raised $534.60.

‘Artists Abound in Glenmore Park’
Dylan (2S) and Eligh (KW) had their work
selected for entry into Operation Art for 2012.
Congratulations Eliza and Nadine who both
had artworks sent in last year for an
exhibition of Primary Colours at the
Department of Education and Communities in
Bridge Street. Senior officers in the
Department selected their paintings to be
displayed in State Office. Great work girls.

PANTHER TROPHY REPORT
GPPS sent an under 10‟s and an open team to Whalan
Reserve last week to compete in the tournament. Both
teams were in the A division. The juniors played extremely
well as a team and were highly competitive in all three
games. Our first game against Shalvey was not our best
and we went down 18-4. The second and third matches
we won 40-0 and 38-4. Because our for and against was
so high we qualified for the semi-final against Crawford
who had won their three matches. The boys performed
very well and played their best football winning 24-0. The
grand final will be held at St Marys Stadium tomorrow at
10:30am against St Marys North. Win, lose or draw the
team have done a great job and have been outstanding
representatives of the school. Well done boys!!
The seniors had a mixed day winning two games and
losing two. The first we won 12-6 the second we lost 6-12
and the third 6-8. The best match of the day was against
the highly fancied Lethbridge Park team, we beat them
12-10 in the match of the day!!
Both of our teams are to be congratulated on their
behaviour and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Special thanks to Mr Welsh and Mr Chester for their
assistance coaching and running the water and to all the
parents who supported the team and assisted with
transport to and from the venue. Without your help these
activities would not be offered to our students.
