SVSU – In your bid, you discuss getting involved in MORHA again. How do you plan on doing that again? FSU – What is your largest accomplishment this year to keep residents on campus? UW- Stevens Point – What do you think is your schools greatest weakness? NCC – Did you bid for any national/regional awards in the past year? UW-EC – Housing closed due to water damage, how did they handle this? Used bad windows, closed building and moved people into Presidential Towers, and filled open spots on campus when available. UW-Milwaukee – Has this impacted resident’s involvement? Still contact. Northwestern U – One way to improve upon? Welcome week, and the usage of older Executive Board members at programs. Purdue - 30% increase in their budget, what are you doing with the extra money? Allocating to programming, still have half a year and conference fees to use for next semester. XXV. Philanthropy Discussion – Emily Ascher - Make A Wish Foundation – Mission, History/Background, ways to contribute,

grant wishes to sick children, locations - Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Background, What it is and how it affects

people, ways to contribute, and locations - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – What it is, background, ways to

contribute, locations - Ronald McDonald House – mission, background, ways to contribute,

locations - American Cancer Society - Centers for Independent Living

Purdue – Make A Wish Foundation is recognized by a lot of people. Millikin - Make a Wish and Ronald McDonald House Ball State – Make A Wish and Ronald McDonald house both impact children. SVSU – How much time and energy would it take to establish communication with a new charity? It’s a new contact each year. It’s hard to choose a charity because there isn’t one that is better than the others. However, there are some that are overlooked. UWSP – The Ronald McDonald house personally affected our school. Although schools may have to travel to visit a house, it will be more influential to the children. NCC – It’s really hard for a small school to raise money and being able to collect pop tabs has made it easier for our school because we have a non-monetary option. UWEC – With the JDRF, is it something they generally do? The JDRF sends schools to different organizations and sends them shoes to raise money. Loyola – I’ve worked with the JDRF and the program is good to work with them. Purdue – The reason that Ronald McDonald and Make A Wish are good is because they cover a wide variety of people. WIU – Walk is good. SIUC calls the question seconded by Ball State. Motion passes. *Special Note - Sending Notes and Cards to Eric Camel. XXVI. Director Presentations Loyola will be proxying their vote. Illinois Wesleyan will be proxying their vote to their NRHH rep. David Rosenbergs SVSU – What are the time commitments as an Assistant Scout Master? No time commitments during school. One night a week. EMU – How would the new meeting work? Work as a summer social. InSU – How do you feel bringing NRHH and RHA more into meetings will affect those schools that do not have NRHH? UWSP – When would the added conference be, where? NU – What ideas do you have to have more integration of NCCs in the nation?

NU – What do you as being one of the biggest obstacles in the position? Getting everyone to submit and be involved with the conferences GVSU – If you could see one goal accomplished in your term, what would it be? Extra Conference BSU – What would your personality personally bring to benefit the organization? By being Professional and sociable. UWM - How do you plan to involve the state organizations? MSU – What kind of experience do you have running meetings such as this? Loyola – Can you name one positive and one negative quality? Hardworking. Take things to personal. Illinois SU – Would you work with schools only affiliated with GLACURH to promote the state organizations? NU – What types of legislation would you like to see and from whom? UIC - How does your institution support you? SVSU - How would you handle conflict on the board? SVSU NRHH – To what extent do you plan on having lines of communication open to NCCs? UWSP – Elaborate on online discussion of awards. In Univ. – Can you explain how you envision added a conference? I look at this new conference as being a smaller GLACURH. Then deciding what the member schools want. CMU NRHH – How do you plan to recruit and retain schools with the issues of travel and monetary issues with more conferences? MSU NRHH – Since we already have problems finding host schools for conferences, what do you foresee with the new conference? Motion to extend Q&A by 10 minutes. Motion fails. NU - If elected, would you like to focus on recruitment or retention? BSU – Yield to InSU – With the addition of another conference, do you foresee it conflicting with RBD schedules and the schedules of schools? UW-M – Do you have any ideas for assisting NCC/NRHH reps with educating their halls on GLACURH?

GVSU – How do you feel that your on-campus honors and experience have prepared you for this position? Carthage – How do you plan to close the gap between the NCCs and the RBD? UWM NRHH – What do you see as NRHH’s role in GLACURH now and in the future? UWGB How would you plan on making sure the new conference does not affect our current schedule? Motion to allow David to finish answering the question made by Purdue, seconded EMU. Motion passed. Pro/Con Stephen Swieton SVSU – How would you handle conflict on the board? Talk it out. Don’t let it fester. UWSP – How are you going to better educate yourself on being a NCC? The only part I’m not familiar with is leading a delegation. I’m familiar and have experience with nearly every other part. By talking to them and getting feedback from the NCCs NCC – What do you see as being your biggest challenge? Filling the board. We need to have conversations about why positions are not being filled and conferences aren’t being bid for. ILSU – How do you plan to work with Ontario and how do you plan to work with them? Continuing communication and work with them. We need to work with the other regions that are international and set an action plan. Fix the problem at the national level. MSU – What are you going to do to make sure we are well utilizing our time in business? By working with the Parliamentarian. Seeing the endpoint and keeping us going toward that point. SIUC – How will you know if your new institution will or will not support you in this position? I would go to a school that does not support me in this position. UWM-NRHH – What do you see as NRHH’s role in GLACURH and in the future? With NRHH choosing its own destiny, it will ultimately make GLACURH stronger. Guelph – What are you plans to get a representative from Ontario, not necessarily a RCC? By working with ORHA as well as the other state organizations and directors. UWSP NRHH – Can you expand on the standing committees? Discussions on term of office, moving awards, purpose driven legislation. IWU – Do you have a plan to fill the empty positions on the board? Northwestern – Greatest Strength/Weakness? Past Experience, challenge would be being on it again and not repeating things/ doing them over. In State – How will GLACURH have documents on hand? Making sure that files and bids are available to NCC. Northwestern – Administration and new ideas? Taking minutes and keeping files, more than that, within goals, working with RBD/NRHH and philanthropy. EMU moves to end Q&A, seconded Northwestern. Motion passes. Northwestern – What is your style of advising? Mentoring and allowing of failures for successful. Northwestern – What was your most difficult challenge? Advising interhall council and dealing with conflict between exec board and general board as an exec member was struggling with confidence. IL State – How would you be available? I serve the pleasure of GLACURH. Ball State – How do you plan on helping NCCs? I have attended regional business, and I like the idea of committees and interacting with CCs. Northwestern – Hardest problem you have faced? Advisors are working with the exec board and calling them out and commit to a retreat. NCC – Why do you see NRHH as so important? NRHH provide leadership and training, while RHA provides campus programming. NRHH trains those that follow them. SVSU NRHH – GLACURH involvement? RBD and learned about personal interaction, visited all schools at least once that are involved. Motion to extend Q&A by 5 minutes made by SVSU. Seconded by U-Indy. Motion passes. Millikin – Advisor training? Art provides professional development for Advisors, Graduate and Masters courses. Loyola NRHH – Does NRHH need time outside? Up to you. Marquette – How long do you plan to stay at Purdue? At least 5 years … long time. Western – communication with advisors? Provide more roundtables, and ART certification.
