The President answered all the questionsraised by the members regarding the revision of pension and multiplicationfactor either 2.57 or 2.67, regarding the ID Card, Health Insurance card etc.properly as per the circulars and G.O.s.

MAYILADUTHURAI UNITMonthly meeting for NOVEMBER 2018 was held on the Sunday, 10th

November at 10.00 AM is ARIVALAYAM METRIC HR.SEC.SCHOOL.

for AIFRUCTO and enrolled himself. The following resolutions were passed inthe meeting:1. To speed up the process of getting the forms for revision of pension /Family

pension from the members or their legal heirs and submit the first batch on14th November 2018 to the authorities of Kandaswami Kandar's College,P. Velur for further action, and the second batch on 16th November 2018.

2. To request the General Secretary to meet the Joint Director of CollegiateEducation, Dharmapuri to speed up the process of fixation of pension andother benefits of 6 of our members recently retired and joined TANRECTA.ofour Unit.The members congratulated Prof. K. Palanisamy (Chemistry), Prof.

M. Dhandapani (Chemistry) and Dr. A.Shanmugasundram (Economics) for theirbirth day and for hosting the dinner with loud claps of hands.

The meeting came to an end after the Treasurer proposed the Vote of

Thanks. The next meeting is scheduled to be held on 8th December 2018.

TRICHY UNITAs programmed, the monthly meeting was held at 5.00 p.m. on Saturday

10-11-2018, in which 37 members actively participated. Welcoming the members,the Jt. Secretary Dr. Muraliji gave an account of the steps being undertaken forclaiming the revised pay scale as per the recent Finance Pay Commission notifi-cation. Further clarification in this matter, in detail, was provided by the Vice-President Prof. Kannan, who also chaired the proceedings. Senior Prof. Ayyavu,as one of the convenors for the processing the received pay revision forms,informed the gathering about the advance status of the work done by the JDCEOffice and the Aided College Principals and Secretaries in further processing.A special talk was given by the NEOMAX representatives supported by Laptopvisuals on the Topic : "Multi Investment Opportunities for Senior Citizens toenhance their immediate financial needs and also for furthering their long termmonetary benefits", which was well received by all those present.

Members born this month were felicitated by calling their names individu-ally by the Unit Treasurer Prof. Hussainy, who later on, at the end proposed thevote of thanks as well. Tea and Snacks as usual were provided by the Unit to Allthe members who attended.

A special E.C. Meeting which was conveyed at the Arun Hotel, Trichy on13.11.18 between 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. the Unit Vice - President, Joint Secretaryand the Treasurer participated. Detailed deliberations were held in which around35 office bearers, from different Units of the TN - TANRECTA and the CentralOffice bearers took part. Highlight of the gathering was mainly on the wide -spread destruction caused by the "Gaja" Cyclone, collecting the donation gen-erously for distributing immediate relief materials to the affected and needy.

In the light of the GeneralSecretary's circular in TANRECTA speaks and his telephonic talks with thepresident, the developments since Annual conference were explained to themembers. Issues relating to pre 2006 retires were presented byProf.R.Ramakrishnan, Vice President. Post 2006 retires were explained aboutthe circular in TANRECTA speaks, two benefices were found out and theirrepresentation for their pension revision was sent to the appropriate authorities.The meeting came to an end with Treasurer Dr.M.Tamilarasan proposing voteof thanks. Next meeting for December 2018 will be held in the same premiseson the Sunday, 9th December 2018 (09.12.2018).

01 : TANRECTA, Mayiladuthurai unit records its deep felt condolence on theunfortunate demise of Prof.K.V.SUBRAMANIAN, a senior member of our asso-ciation on 23.08.2018. May his sole rest in peace. We convey our deep sorrow tothe members of bereaved family.02 : TANRECTA unit of Mayiladuthurai expresses its deep sense of appreciationto tbe members of TANRECTA - ERODE unit and the central office bearers forsuccessfully conducting our 18th annual conference in a grand manner on29.08.2018 in Erode.03 : Resolved to thank' Prof. Aranga Narasingan Endowment’ for choosing the

‘Self Study centre for competitive examinations in Mayiladuthurai for this year

assistance.

04 : TANRECTA, Mayiladuthurai unit, place on record the services rendered by

Prof.R.Ramakrihnan, Vice - President and thank him for "his efforts in getting therevised pension proposal forms from eligible members as well as non members

for both pension & family pension.

05: TANRECTA , Mayiladuthurai unit prays for the good health of our

Secretary Prof.S.MURUGESAN and his speedy recovery from illness.

06 : Prof.D.Antony Durairaj moved a private resolution and after discussion it

was accepted. The Content of the resolution: Resolved to request the centre to

move and forward the resolution to our Stare Government.

120 members attended the meeting. Dr. V. Swaminathan presided. The meetingcondoled the death of Prof. Thangapandi, a member of TANRECTADr. V. Swaminathan in his presidential address outlined the various improvementsin the implementation of the 2nd stage of Pension revision. He emphasized thatthe latest proceedings of the DCE and the Commissioner of Treasuries andAccounts clearly specifying pension fixation paves the way for pension Revisionof all college teacher pensioners. He appealed to the members to attend thepensioners’ day function to be held on 08/08/2018 at Quaid E Millath college. 30octogenarian pensioners of our unit are to be honoured and felicitated in thatmeeting and the celebrations are followed by Lunch in honour of the Octogenarianretirees.

The Secretary in his report took strong exception to the concerted efforts ofthe Govt. of India to curtail the autonomy of the UGC, RBI, CBI and otherautonomous institutions which destabilizes these institutions and theirfunctioning.

On Pay and Pension revision of College teachers in Tamilnadu, he said,every college teacher (serving/retired) has to undergo the agony of delay at

every stage in view of the piecemeal issue of G.O.s by State and CentralGovernments on revision of Pension.

He informed the members that there are 2 channels of communication, oneis the WhatApp group called ‘TANRECTA Official’ and another ‘Bulk SMS’ toindividuals. Members desirous of joining either or both channels may pleasesend an SMS to 90877 25798 for inclusion in WhatsApp or bulk SMS or both. Thehouse was informed that all those in arrears of subscription for more than 3 yearswill be removed from the Association and the journal will be stopped for them.

The meeting passed a resolution for a director Programme for expediting2nd stage of Pension revision and for the pending individual demands of Prof.Usha Mahadevan (BRCCB), Prof. R. Nandagopalan (SIVET), Prof. R. Tamil Selvi(QMC), Prof. Arul and a few other individuals whose service issues are pendingfor a long time. The house authorized the Unit Governing Body to finalise thedate and list of issues to be highlighted in the dharna.

Another resolution was passed urging the PPO (Chennai) and the treasuryand sub treasury offices in Chennai & Kancheepuram to disburse D.A. and otherarrears on the same day uniformly for all pensioners. The meeting ended withvote of thanks by the Vice President, Dr. M. Chandrasekaran.
