Mr. Pradhyumna Kumar, IIIrd B.Tech ECE, was selected as College Representative for E-Cell IIT Bombay during Aug. 2017

The Project DR-OT designed and developed by Mr. Pradhyumna Kumar, IIIrd B.Tech ECE, was selected as one among the 49 teams selected for Rapid Prototype Camp by Intel Higher Education Challenge, at Bangalore, during Oct. 2017 and won a cash award of Rs. 5,000.

The Innovative Idea submitted by Mr. M. Vamsi, III B.Tech., ECE, was selected for Phase –I Qualifying round, DST & TI India Innovatin Challenge Design Contest 2017 during Oct. 2017. Over 15,380 students from 965 colleges participated and 5049 ideas were selected for the Round-I.

The project titled WATER RECYCLING SYSTEM USING TT TECHNOLOGY designed by Mr. Mavillapalli Vamsi, Mr. Guru Prakash, Mr. Himakar of IV ECE is shortlisted for Semifinals in DST & Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2017, Anchored by IIM, Bangalore.

N. Suneesha completed 50 hours training on Application Development Using Kotlin in December 2017 in KONCPT Neet Hall, Chennai.

Mr.V.Sai ganesh has participated in national level photography and film fest at SRM University and secured first position in the events of “On Spot Photography”& Scrap book”

Mr. G. Yaswanth Reddy, IV B.Tech ECE secured Campus Ambassador Internship at Entrepreneurship Cell, Delhi Technological University through INTERNSHALA on 27th October 2017.

Mr. M. Vamsi and Mr. P. Sreenivasulu of IV B.Tech, ECE completed two months training & internship in “Android and Angular JS” from 5th November 2017 to 6th January 2018 in ACE WEB ACADEMY, Hyderabad.

Mr. K. Pradhyumna Kumar of IV B.Tech,ECE had undergone a six week online winter training on WEB DEVELOPMENT from 6th December 2017 to 16th January 2018 through Internshala Trainings.

Mr. RVS. Narayana Kumar and Mr.G. Ravi Teja of III B.Tech,ECE successfully completed “Mini Project on “Implementation of Digital Filters on SHARC Processors using C “from 15th December 2017 to 06th January 2018 at Directorate of Navigation & Embedded Computers, Research Centre, Imarat, (DRDO), Hyderabad.

Sk. Sameeulla, K.Manoj Sai, A. Rupesh and R. Charan Kumar developed a model on SOLAR POWERED FOUR WHEELED VEHICLE and exhibited at JNTUA and qualified for university level.

SK. Rafi, P. Sairam, SK. Abdul bashed and G. Akhilkrishna developed a model on GO-KART and exhibited at JNTUA and qualified for university level.

Third year B.Tech Civil Engineering students were participated the guest lecture on “THE FACTORS INFLUENCE ON TENSILE STRENGTH OF HARDENED CONCRETE, W/C RATIO” on 18th February 2017 by Mr. G. Sudhakar , Deputy General Manager from Reliance Organization.

Third year B.Tech Civil Engineering students were participated the guest lecture on “DESIGN OF GUSSET PLATE, SLAB, COMPRESSIVE MEMBERS” on 2nd March 2017 by Mr. T. Srinivasulu Reddy, District Vigillence Officer from Nellore.

Mr. P. SREENIVAS REDDY, Scientist ‘G’, DRDO, Hyderabad, delivered a guest lecture on DRDO MISSILE PROGRAMME to the B.Tech, III & IV year CSE students of GIST on 23 March 2017.

Department of ECE organized a guest lecture on “Image Processing for Remote Sensing Applications” at on 12th August 2017 by Dr. Surekha Borra, professor of ECE department, KSIT, Bangalore for III year B.Tech ECE students.

A guest lecture was conducted on 17.08.2017 on ‘Effect of ingredients on the durability of concrete structures and remedial measures’ by Sri. NPN Moorthy, Asst Professor, Bapatla Engineering College.

A guest lecture was conducted on 07.09.2017 on ‘Basics of Civil Engineering’ by Sri. P. Chandra Sekharaiah, Dy Executive Engineer, Irrigation and CAD Department, Tirupathi.

Conducted Blood Camp at pothireddypalem with the help of “pinakini lions club”on 14th March 2017. The chief guest Mr. Sitaramarao, president of pinakini lions club appreciated the students and village people.

Conducted service program at pothireddypalem with 200 students on 16th March 2017. The service programs like medical camp, blood camp and planting tress etc. by the NSS candidates.

Conducted free eye camp at pothireddypalem with the help of “pinakini lions” club and “Modern eye care” hospitals on 16th March, 2017. The chief guest Mr. Sitaramarao, president of pinakini lions club appreciated the students for their service.

Totally, 500 students of Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology participated in free eye testing camp conducted by NSS unit with the support of “Clarity Opticals” on 26th March, 2017.

The third “International Yoga Day” was grandly celebrated by NSS unit at Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology on 20th June, 2017. The chief guest, Mr. M. Veerendra addressed about the importance of yoga and fitness.

AP Transport Commissioner Office, Nellore and NSS unit conducted the LLR exam for students at Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology on 16th November, 2017. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sivaramaprasad, Inspectors Mr. BalaMurali and Mr. Poorna Chandra Rao, Road transport officers Mr. Vijay Kumar and Mr. Lakshmi Narayana surveillance the exam successfully and top qualified candidates are awarded with certificates.

National Youth Festival was celebrated at Geethanjali institute of Science and Technology with 200 students from all the colleges at Nellore by NSS unit during 4th -11th January, 2018. Dr. M. L. S. Deva Kumar, the chief guest of the day enlightens the history behind the National Service Scheme and improvements of it.

Conducted the “National Voters Day” on behalf of NSS unit on 24th January, 2018. The principal, management, staff and Students participated in this event and explained about the democracy and “Right to Vote” for every human being.

On 28th January, 2018, the students of NSS took an active part in serving at “Pulse Polio” program in and around the SPSR Nellore district.

GIST NSS Volunteers participated in University Level Youth Festival organized by JNUTA at JNTUA, Anantapur on 16thFebruary 2018 and secured II Prize in Quiz Competition.

General College activities Celebrated “70th Independence day” on 18th August, 2017. Celebrated the Teachers day on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by NSS unit on

4th September, 2017. Conduct finale event of “SHAR” on 8th October, 2017. The chief guest M. B. Narayana Murthy,

Associative director of SHAR participated in this event and demonstrated about the opportunities at SHAR.

Conducted the event regarding “The Equality of Men and Women”. The management, students, CSE HOD Dr. Jahnavi and S & S HOD Mrs. K. Vijaya supported the event and explained about the rights and ethics for every men and women.

Celebrated “Geethanjali Telugu sabha” on behalf of NSS unit on 9th November, 2017. The chief guest Mrs. Pathuri Annapurna, Professor at B.Ed. College explained about the greatness of Telugu.

National Mathematics Day Celebrated on the birthday of Mr. Srinivas Ramanujam by NSS unit on 22nd December, 2017.

Sankranthi celebrations were greatly celebrated at Geethanjali institute of Science and technology with the students and staff by NSS unit on 12th January, 2018. On behalf of this eve several competitions like Rangoli, cultural dance, musical chairs, games etc., were held with joy.

On the eve of “MahilaSardhakatha” GIST conducted a program “Gender Champion in educational Institutions” at various schools on 09thFebruary 2018.

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has launched Skill Enhancement Program to ensure students to have a strong foundation. Decennial Celebrations of GIST is inaugurated by Mr. E. S. Chakravarthy, Center Head, Tata Consultancy Services Bangalore on 1st August 2017.

Awareness program on Entrepreneurship development was held on 11Th August 2017 organized by Industry Institute Coordination Cell (IICC). Mr. N. Sreedhar Reddy, Asst. Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Directorate, Hyderabad, Government of India, Mr. S. Venkata Suresh, Asst. Director, District Industries Centre, Nellore, Govt. of A.P. and a real entrepreneur, Mr. Samara Sekhara Reddy participated.

Industry visits

Third year B.Tech Civil Engineering students visited the work under progress extension of Nellore-Mumbai highway along with faculty on 20.04.2017 & 21.04.2017. Students learned about reinforcement arrangement in the canal work.

An industrial visit to Nelcast Ltd, Industrial Estate, Gudur, SPSR Nellore (Dt), was organised for the III & IV year B.Tech MECH students on 12/08/2017.

III & IV B.Tech. , EEE Students visited “WEBERS ELECTRIC PRIVATE Ltd”, A Transformer manufacturing, testing and exporting unit situated at Venkatachalam, Nellore on 12.10.2017 & 18.10.2017 as a part of Industrial visit to gain practical and industrial exposure.

An Industrial Visit to NARL, Gadanki, Chittoor was organized for III and IV B.Tech ECE students on 13th October 2017.

An industrial visit to Somasila Dam in Ananthasagaram Mandal , Nellore (Dt), was organized for the IV year B.Tech Civil students on 14-10- 2017 .

Three days Industrial visit to Mobile Programming Pvt ltd., Bangalore for IV B.Tech CSE Students from 21- 23 October 2017.

An Industrial Visit to SDSC SHAR, ISRO, Sriharikota, Nellore was organized for IV B.Tech ECE students on 2ndJANUARY 2018.

Two days Industrial visit to Intellect Design arena ltd., Chennai for III B.Tech CSE Students on 6th and 20th January 2018.

On 06-01-2018 and 20-01-2018, III rd B.Tech students of CSE visited POLARIS Chennai. An industrial visit to Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station, Nellore Dt, was

Prof. M. Raja Reddy, Prof. & HOD/EEE T.N.V.L.N.Kumar and Mr.T.Ravi Kumar, Associate Professor in EEE Submitted a Research Proposal entitled “Optimal Design of Space Solar Cell Top Contact” to ISRO, Bangalore.

Dr. Sk.Mahaboob Basha, Professor in ECE, Head / R&D and Mr. G. Kiran Kumar, Assistant Professor in ECE submitted a Research Proposal entitled “Development of energy efficient and high speed hardware system for secure Multimedia applications” to Science & Research Engineering Board (SERB).

Dr. Y. Jahnavi, Professor & HOD/CSE Submitted a Research Proposal entitled “Seminal Feature Prediction from Weather Data Sets” to Science & Research Engineering Board (SERB).

Dr. Sk.Mahaboob Basha, Professor in ECE, Head / R&D Submitted a FDP Proposal entitled “Emerging trends in wireless and Mobile communication applications for IOT” to AICTE-ISTE Induction/Refresher Program.

Dr. Y. Jahnavi, Professor & HOD/CSE Submitted a FDP Proposal entitled “Data analytics through machine learning & data science” to AICTE-ISTE Induction/Refresher Program.

Dr. M.Raja Reddy & Dr. L.Vinay Kumar submitted a research proposal entitled “Synthesis, materials and device modelling and development of printable organic – inorganic perovskite solar cells” for 91.6 lakhs to Science & Engineering Research Board.

Two proposals (one from CSE and one from ECE), for Rs. 6.00 lakhs funding to conduct one week FDPs through STTP was submitted to AICTE-ISTE
