GAUDEAMUS!
Looking back . . . Corpus Christi at Appleby Fayre
On the great Solemnity of Corpus Christi the Catholic Church was blessed to receive more members into her fold. An imposing white tent, pitched at the crossroads, was our church for the day. It filled quickly with faithful Travellers coming for Mass, which was celebrated by Canon Alex Makulski and concelebrated by Fr Philip Connor. Four children were baptised, five received their First Holy Com-munion and six received the Sacrament of Confirma-tion. After Mass, the priests took turns carrying the Blessed Sacrament in procession as those of us who followed sang the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. God is not dead. He is very much alive. Indeed, Christ passed by at Appleby Fayre.
