Focus of Research and Development Work: o Energy Efficiency:

Development and optimization of burners, furnaces and industrial combustion processes

Oxy-fuel combustion for thermal processing industries

o Fluctuated Gas Qualities: Effect of natural gas quality changes on industrial combustion

processes

o Renewable Energies: Suitability of alternative fuels for industrial process heating, for

example biogas or low-calorific-value gases.

o Pollutant Emissions: Investigation of primary measures to reduce pollutant emissions

Research is carried out both experimentally, using semi-industrial combustion test rigs, and by means of CFD analysis, chemical kinetics analysis or process simulation.
