Dear Colleagues,

The prognosis of patients with primary and secondary liver tumors has improved over the past decade due to refined surgical approaches, new systemic treatment options and irradiation techniques and not at last continous development and improvement of diagnostic tools.

In addition to these well-established treatment modalities, there is an increasing use of interventional therapies directly targeting liver malignancies with curative and palliative intent.

The question “when and whom” to treat with an interventional treat-ment modality is again the focus of the 3rd ITLT which will take place in Essen, Germany and can only be answered within the framework of a close interdisciplinary cooperation.

During this conference a panel of internationally well renowned experts will outline the state of the art of different treatment modalities of liver malignancies such as hepatocellular and cholangiocellular carcinoma as well as liver metastases of other primaries. They will discuss the various treatment options and try to put them into a rationally based perspective.

After the great success of the former ITLT Meetings with nearly 300 attendees in 2011 we want to go one step further and let this conference grow to an established international meeting.

The interdisciplinary faculty of international experts and the location in Essen will make it equally attractive for German, European and overseas participants.

We cordially would like to invite you to support this meeting and be a partner in the field of interdisciplinary treatment of liver tumors. We are expecting again an outstanding symposium and looking for-ward to meet you in Essen.
