We began the week with our Maori Awards evening on Monday in which we recognised the achievements of students across all aspects of school life. The student leaders and others took control of the ceremony in a highly proficient manner and they are to be congratulated on their excellent presentaon. Our Music Department holds their annual concert at the Hawkins Theatre tomorrow, Saturday, at 2pm. This is always a lovely occasion and again, my thanks go to the teachers, support staff and parents for making this possible and to the talented student musicians for their dedicaon. Junior Exams Year 9 and 10 examinaons begin next Thursday 15 November and connue unl Tuesday 20 November. Students will have 2 exams per day, making the total of 8 exams over the 4 days. All students should be revising the work that will be examined, as it is important that students aim for personal excellence in these exams. For our current Year 10 students, the results of these exams will determine their courses for Year 11 English, maths and science in parcular. No Fireworks! Sue Blakely, Principal UN YOUTH NZ: South Auckland Model United Naons Recently, Krika Selach 10AKH was invited to represent Rosehill College at UN YOUTH NZ’s South Auckland Model United Naons 2018. The goal for UN Youth NZ is to inspire young New Zealanders to be global cizens in the rapidly globalising world of today. Throughout this event there was a youth development workshop and panel aiming to encourage youth to be involved in polics and decision making in Aotearoa. Krika was a delegate for Brazil in the first commiee, which was debang for the queson of addressing mental health and in the second commiee she was a delegate for Germany debang for the queson of indigenous rights. This Model United Naons Event was aended by high schools from all over Auckland and it was a great opportunity to network with other high schools for Rosehill College. Krika looks forward to aending more UN Youth NZ events in the future and growing her understanding about the United Naons.

Congratulations to all those Year 11, 12 and 13 students whose impressive achievements throughout this year were acknowledged in last night’s Senior and today’s Year 11 prizegiving ceremonies. UN YOUTH NZ: South Auckland Model

United Nations Recently, Kritika Selach 10AKH was invited to represent Rosehill College at UN YOUTH NZ’s South Auckland Model United Nations 2018. Congratulations Congratulations to Lucas Hutton who has been named in the CHIEFS under 17 Development Squad. Despite a broken collar bone Lucas was able to impress the selectors and secure a position in the Development Squad. A huge thank you to 1st XV Rugby management Todd, Daniel, James and Yvette for your support with Lucas and his rugby this year.

Sports Awards 2018On Thursday 25th October we were lucky enough to celebrate another successful year of sport, as well as recognising all of our volunteer coaches and managers and those students who have done exceptionally well on the sporting arena in 2018 from Rosehill College. It was a fantastic evening, a big thank you to our Sports Committee for your effort setting the place up, Delwyn our caterer for an amazing spread and our guest speaker Dominic Harvey from The Edge radio station for coming to be a part of it and share the evening with us.

As mentioned we thank all our volunteer coaches and managers for all their efforts this year.
