FAD NEWS In Memory of… Jim Tyler, a long time FAD member passed away on February 19th. Jim was an active member of FAD, FDSC, Deaf Catholic Association, Deaf Sportsman Club, Deaf Snowmobile Club. He is also a GLDBA Hall of Famer, He will be missed by many. Lucky Bowl Fest There was a great crowd at the Lucky Bowl Fest. Harold Allen drew his own number and won a 47 inch TV! Everyone had a great time. Euchre winners were Peg Frelich, Mark Woodworth, Henry Standell, Harold Allen, Terry Misener, Martha Misenser, and Mitchell Gray. Congrats! Hannah and KJ Wears, daughters of Tammy Delitka, both made the CSSD Basketball and Cheerleading All-Stars. Senior Winter Games Seven FDSC participated in the Genesee County Senior Winter Games Feb. 3-19. Joining the fun were Ron and Linda Scripter, Harry and Darlene Lewis, Ron and Janet Deschler, Laurie Williams and Gerald Vernon. Medal winners were Ron S.- 6, Linda 1, Harry 3 , Janet 2, Laurie 2. Janet won a gold medal with her famous coeecake in the baking competition. At the closing ceremonies Janet won a $10 Speedway gift card and Gerald won $60. rae prize. Hope more FDSC members will join next year. It was a fun way to get through winter! News from FAD Members Nancy & Lonnie Leonard will be great grandparents for the 7th time. They are proud of their extending family but wishes could be with them in Texas and Minnesota Bonnie Liquia had a major heart surgery and is at Linden Caratel for recuperation. She loves it there! Tyler, son of Stevie & Mark Naeyaert, flew to Apsen, Colorado for the annual Deaf Snowboarders Camp. He had a great time getting lessons from Deaf Olympic Snowboarders. Patty Irwin’s mother passed away recently. She was 89 and will be missed. In the midst of bad news, Patty is proud to announce her daughter, Stephanie had a baby and she is now a grandmother. Ken & Judy Lowrie along with Peppy Stuckless had a great trip to Georgia, Florida then on a 7 day Caribbean cruise trip with stops at Haiti and Cozumel. This was Peppy’s first cruise experience. They went zip lining, went on a Jeep tour, visited some family and friends. They were happy to miss the big storm that hit us in Michigan. Volume 57 issue 3 March 2014

Announcement! Effective March 2nd, 2014, all non-members will be asked to pay an additional $5 on top of the regular rates for our social events. ASL College students with current college ID will be waived the $5 fee for Regular Lucky 52 Events only. %

Occasionally FAD will have Open Nights when nothing is scheduled. On those nights, non-members will be asked to pay a $5 cover charge. %CODAs, spouses, and parents of Deaf people can become supporting members of FAD for $30 a year. Supporting members do not have to pay the additional $5 for events. However supporting members cannot have any voice or voting privileges during FAD & FAD Aux meetings.
