Yampa Valley CARE (Colorado Affordable Residential Energy) 2017 income-qualified home energy efficiency upgrade program Includes a FREE home energy assessment from an Energy Smart Colorado approved auditor Includes FREE energy upgrades to make your home more comfortable and lower your utility bills. Depending on the needs of the home, energy upgrades could include measures such as: Furnace or boiler tune-up and safety check Insulation and air sealing Energy Star refrigerator LED light bulbs Programmable thermostats WHO CAN QUALIFY? Income-qualified homeowners and renters (need landlord approval) Families, couples, singles and seniors Households in single-family homes, condos, apartments and mobile homes Households earning up to 80 % of area median income (income verification required in form of previous year’s tax returns) Residences with utility service from both YVEA and Atmos Energy including Atmos natural gas as primary home heating HOW TO GET STARTED? 1. Fill out the Colorado Affordable Residential Energy application online in Spanish or English at www.energyoutreach.org/get-help/care. Or a form can be picked up from the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council at 141 9 th St. in downtown Steamboat Springs or from case managers at LiftUp, Department of Human Services or Integrated Community. 2. If you are eligible, the Energy Smart Colorado team will contact you to schedule a free home visit. 3. The team will help you address the energy efficiency needs of your home, at no cost to you.
