Insert WordArt
After adding lines and shapes to your workbook, you may find that your spreadsheet needs to be more dynamic. You could then add visual emphasis to the text itself.
By adding WordArt, you appeal to your audience and improve the way you communicate.
Click in cell D1.
Copy the text.

Select the Insert tab.
In the Text Group...
Click the WordArt button.

WordArt is a text style that you can apply to text to turn it into a editable piece of art. You select WordArt styles from the WordArt gallery. WordArt allows you to shadow, skew, rotate and stretch text.
Select a WordArt style.
Right-click the WordArt.

Select the Keep Text Only paste option.
Click the edge of the box around the WordArt.

Return to the Home tab to format the WordArt.
Change the Font to Verdana.
Change the Font Size to 18.

Click in cell D1. Delete the text.
Move the WordArt to cells A1 – L1.

Switch to the Format tab.
In the WordArt Styles group...
Select Text Effects.

Select the Inflate Top style.

Scroll down so you can view the table.
Click in cell I15 and Key in Text: "Totals".
Click in cell I16.
Switch to the Formulas tab.

Sum cells E15 – H15.

Drag the formula through cells I16 – I19.
Inserting SmartArt Graphics
Are used to create list, process, cycle, hierarchy, relationship, matrix and pyramid diagrams. Each SmartArt graphic, based on its design, automatically resizes the text you enter so the data fits inside the graphics. The graphic’s shapes and text can also be formatted.
In addition, you can change the SmartArt graphic’s color, font and effect to match the document’s theme.
Switch to the Insert tab.

In the Illustrations Group...
Click the SmartArt button.
The Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box opens.
Click to view the Matrix options.

Select the Cycle Matrix.

Click OK.

Add Text to the Diagram
Click in this section. Type NE.
Notice that the size of the text changes automatically as you type.
Click in this section. Type NW.

Select the NW rectangle.

Select the Design tab.
In the Create Graphic group...
Click Add Bullet.
Add #1 to the shape.
The bullet will not appear until you click away from the shape.

Click Add Bullet.

Format the SmartArt Graphic
On the Design tab.

In the SmartArt Styles group...
View the Quick Styles.
Select Bird’s Eye Scene.

Click to change the color of the SmartArt.
Select Gradient Loop - Accent 1.

Move the SmartArt into the upper left-hand corner.
Make it fit the space between the WordArt and the table.
Select each of the wedges. Then CTRL + Click.

Switch to the Format Tab.
In the Shapes group...
Click the Larger button.
Verify that the shapes overlap slightly.

Return to the Design tab.
Is there a better Layout option? Let’s check.
None are a good option…leave it with the original layout.

Save the File.
Change the File Name.
Click Save.

Switch the Page Orientation.
