God of Day and God of Darkness
1. God of day and God of darkness,
Now we stand before the night;
As the shadows stretch and deepen,
Come and make our darkness bright.
All creation still is groaning
For the dawning of your might,
When the Sun of peace and justice
Fills the earth with radiant light.
2. Still the nations curse the darkness,
Still the rich oppress the poor;
Still the earth is bruised and broken
By the ones who still want more.
Come and wake us from our sleeping,
So our hearts cannot ignore
All your people lost and broken,
All your children at our door.
3. Show us Christ in one another,
Make us servants strong and true;
Give us all your love of justice
So we do what you would do.
Let us call all people holy,
Let us pledge our lives anew,
L oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of war, disaster,
epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against
violence, murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect
to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents that they more form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones
through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for
life and human dignity in our community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us.
Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy fam-
ily.
Archdiocesan Family Prayer
Amen.
Nuestra Señora del Pronto Socorro, apresúrate a socorrer-
nos.
Madre Henrieta Delille, ruega por nosotros para que seamos
una familia Santa.

Make us one with all the lowly,
Let us all be one in you.
4. You shall be the path that guides us,
You the light that in us burns;
Shining deep within all people,
Yours the love that we must learn,
For our hearts shall wander restless
'Til they safe to you return;
Finding you in one another,
We shall all your face discern.
5. Praise to you in day and darkness,
You our source and you our end;
Praise to you who love and nurture us
As a father, mother, friend.
Grant us all a peaceful resting,
Let each mind and body mend,
So we rise refreshed tomorrow,
Hearts renewed to Kingdom tend.

Eye Has Not Seen
Refrain
Eye has not seen,
ear has not heard
what God has ready
for those who love him;
Spirit of love, come,
give us the mind of Jesus,
teach us the wisdom of God.
1. When pain and sorrow
weigh us down,
be near to us, O Lord,
forgive the weakness
of our faith,
and bear us up within
your peaceful word.
2. Our lives are but
a single breath,
we flower and we fade,
yet all our days are
in your hands,
so we return in love
what love has made.
3. To those who see
with eyes of faith,
the Lord is ever near,
reflected in the faces
of all the poor
and lowly of the world.
4. We sing a myst'ry
from the past
in halls where
saints have trod,
yet ever new the music
rings to Jesus,
Living Song of God.

you are sweeter
than all of our dreams,
closer than all the air
that surrounds us,
you are greater
than anything
Refrain
You are holy,
holy God almighty,
God with us.
You are holy,
holy God almighty,
God with us.
God with us.
3. You bring joy into
all of our sadness,
you bring peace
into all of our pain,
shining light into
all of our darkness,
you are greater
than anything.

6th Sunday in Ordinary Time Page 3
Let there be peace on earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father,
brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me;
let this be the moment now.
With ev'ry step I take,
let this be my solemn vow;
To take each moment,
and live each moment
in peace eternally!
Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.

estando yo sin fuerzas me salvó.
4. Alma mía, recobra tu calma,

arrancó mi alma de la muerte,
mis ojos de las lágrimas,
mis pies de la caída.

longing for their Lord,
for God’s coming kingdom
shall be theirs.
Blessed are the sorrowing,
for they shall be consoled,
and the meek shall come
to rule the world.

Lead me, Lord, lead me, Lord,
by the light of truth
to seek and to find
the narrow way.
Be my way; be my truth;
be my life, my Lord,
and lead me, Lord, today.

for mercy shall be theirs,
and the pure in heart
shall see their God.
Blest are they whose hunger
only holiness can fill, for
I say they shall be satisfied.

through their lifetimes
sow the seeds of peace;

Christ Has No Body Now But Yours
Refrain
Christ has no body now but yours,
no hands but yours.
Here on this earth yours is the work,
to serve with the joy of compassion.
1. No hands but yours
to heal the wounded world,
no hands but yours
to soothe all its suff’ring,
no touch but yours to bind
the broken hope of the people of God.
2. No eyes but yours
to see as Christ would see,
to find the lost,
to gaze with compassion;
no eyes but yours to glimpse
the holy joy of the city of God.
3. No feet but yours
to journey with the poor,
to walk this world with mercy and justice.
Yours are the steps to build
a lasting peace for the children of God.

so now be His blessing,
with ev'ry gift a benediction be

Come Thou Fount
1. Come Thou fount of ev'ry blessing,
tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise:
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
mount of Thy redeeming love.
2. Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I'm come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home:
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wand'ring from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
3. O, to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy grace, Lord, like a fetter,
bind my wand'ring heart to Thee:
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above.

Thy Word
Refrain
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
and a light unto my path.
1. When I feel afraid,
and I think I've lost my way,
still You're there right beside me.
Nothing will I fear
as long as You are near.
Please be near me to the end.
2. I will not forget
Your love for me, and yet
my heart forever is wandering.
Jesus, be my guide
and hold me to Your side;
I will love You to the end.

I will Choose Christ
Refrain
I will choose Christ,
I will choose love,
I choose to serve.
I give my heart, I give my life,
I give my all to you.
1. How many times
must he call my name
and show to me that he is God?
And as a servant he calls to me,
“You must serve too.”
2. Christ, my teacher and healer,
teach my heart and heal my soul.
And as I walk this road with you,
teach me to love.
3. As I look upon your cross,
so too must I die with you.
And with the death of my
own desires,
I’ll rise with you.

With reckless abandon to Your truth,
I want to fall deeper in love with You.

Is. 49:6Is. 49:6Is. 49:6Is. 49:6 In the present darkness of our culture God calls us to be His light. Does that sound tough? Impossi-ble? You bet it is, but only if we forget that He is our light. Without Him we can do nothing, but with Him all things are possible. Through prayer and re-flection on His word in scripture, His will becomes clear. Our response is submission to the Divine Will. Our Catholic heritage is filled with stories of the Saints who submitted to God’s will. Two such Saints – St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690) and St. Faustina (1905-1938) made God’s will their focus and because of this they were chosen to reveal to us the treasures of His Heart. Let us begin each day by praying from our hearts the Morning Offering which has long been a part of our rich Catholic tradition. God can and will use us to bring His light to the ends of the earth. Morning OfferingMorning OfferingMorning OfferingMorning Offering O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the inten-tions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass through out the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends and in particular for the intentions of our Holy Father Pope Francis, Amen.

Margarita Alacoque (1647-1690) y Santa Faustina (1905-
