Refrain

Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel

Shall come to you, O Israel.

2. O come, O Wisdom from on high,

Who orders all things migh4ly;

To us the path of knowledge show,

And teach us in her ways to go.

3. O come, O come, great Lord of might,

Who to your tribes on Sinai's height

In ancient 4mes once gave the law,

In cloud, and majesty and awe.

4. O come, O Rod of Jesse's stem,

from every foe deliver them

That trust your mighty power to save,

And give them vict’ry o’er the grave.

5. O come, O Key of David, come,

And open wide our heavenly home;

Make safe the way that leads on high,

And close the path to misery.

And cheer us by your drawing nigh;

Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,

And death’s dark shadow put to flight.

O bid our sad divisions cease,

Shepherd of Our Hearts

Refrain

Shepherd of our hearts,

receive our song of praise.

Lead us to the Kingdom,

and guide us all our days.

1. Shepherd of souls, refresh and bless

your chosen pilgrim flock

with manna in the wilderness,

with water from the rock.

2. We would not live by bread alone,

but by your word of grace,

in strength of which we

travel on to our abiding place.

3. Be known to us in breaking bread,

but do not then depart;

O Lord, abide with

us, and spread your table in our heart.

4. Lord, sup with us in love divine;

your Body and your Blood,

be our immortal food.

Ofertorio Madre de los Pobres

Estribillo

OCP Publica-4ons. Todos los derechos reservados. Usado con permiso. Licencia # 608353. Las Mañanitas

Introducción

Estas son las mañanitas que cantaba el rey David. Hoy por ser día de tu santo te las cantamos a 4. Despierta, mi bien, despierta;

Tradicional©OCP Publica4ons.Todos los derechos reservados. Usado con permiso. Licencia # 608353.

Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming

1. Lo, how a Rose e'er blooming

From tender stem hath sprung!

Of Jesse's lineage coming

As seers of old have sung.

It came, a blossom bright,

Amid the cold of winter,

When half spent was the night.

2. Isaiah 'twas fortold it,

The Rose I have in mind,

With Mary we behold it,

The Virgin Mother kind.

To show God's love aright,

She bore to us a Savior,

When half spent was the night.

3. O Flower, whose fragrance tender

With sweetness fills the air,

Dispel in glorious splendor

The darkness ev'rywhere;

True man, yet very God,

From sin and death now save us,

And share our ev'ry load.

Am I not your Mother?”Mother?”Mother?”Mother?” Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego How fitting it is that the first fort-night of the Advent calendar in-cludes two great Marian feasts, emphasizing the important role the Blessed Virgin plays in the heart of the Church. Mary was a young teenager at the time of the Annunciation, and she was taught to participate in an ongo-ing relationship with God. “Hear “Hear “Hear “Hear O Israel! The Lord is our God, the O Israel! The Lord is our God, the O Israel! The Lord is our God, the O Israel! The Lord is our God, the

Therefore you shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and all your soul and with all your strength.” all your heart and all your soul and with all your strength.” all your heart and all your soul and with all your strength.” all your heart and all your soul and with all your strength.” Deut. 6:4. John the Baptist was the prophet chosen by the Father to prepare the world for the First Coming of Jesus; Mary is the prophet of the Second Coming. St. Paul tells us, “Do not “Do not “Do not “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophetic utterances. Test quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophetic utterances. Test quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophetic utterances. Test quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophetic utterances. Test everything; retain what is good.” everything; retain what is good.” everything; retain what is good.” everything; retain what is good.” Thess. 5:16. Mary began early in the life of the Church to prepare the world for the future and she continues to this day. Through her appari-tions to Juan Diego in Mexico, millions of pagans were con-verted and so ended the sacrificial killing of the people to satisfy the appetites of their pagan gods. Does that sound like what is taking place today? However, Mary comes to her children, filled with hope. She speaks truth to us by remind-ing us that there are serious consequences if we do not fol-low God’s teachings, but she emphasizes His love and for-giveness. “The Almighty has done great things for me, and “The Almighty has done great things for me, and “The Almighty has done great things for me, and “The Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. He has mercy on those who fear Him in holy is His name. He has mercy on those who fear Him in holy is His name. He has mercy on those who fear Him in holy is His name. He has mercy on those who fear Him in every generation… He has come to the help of His servant every generation… He has come to the help of His servant every generation… He has come to the help of His servant every generation… He has come to the help of His servant Israel for He has remembered His promise of mercy.”Israel for He has remembered His promise of mercy.”Israel for He has remembered His promise of mercy.”Israel for He has remembered His promise of mercy.” Luke 1:49-50,54. This Advent let us spend time with our Mother, letting her love us, asking her to speak to us in the depths of our souls and praying, ”Mary teach me to leave the things of the world behind. Help me to truly understand that the most im-portant, urgent matter is to surrender my life to Jesus your Son.” For information on the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart, please contact Anne-Marie d'Abadie - 443-2204 or email [email protected] (English) or Lynda Peña - 338-4306 (Spanish).

Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself en-tirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.
