Food Day
Description: On the occasion of World Food Day (16th October, 2020), the Department of
Biotechnology along with the Department of Microbiology organized an online guest lecture
on the topic ‘Micro and Nanoencapsulation of Bioactive components.’ Dr. Ankit Goyal,
Assistant Professor, MIDFT, Mehsana was the invited guest speaker on this occasion.
WORLD FOOD DAY CELEBRATION

Event Name: Poster Making Competition
Description: The students of department of biotechnology
participated in collage and poster making competition organized on

Event Name: Orientation program for 1st Year B.Sc. (Hons.)
Biotechnology
Description: On the 11th of September, 2020 an online orientation
program was organized by the department of biotechnology for the
B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology first year students to make them aware
about the academic aspects of the Biotechnology course and inform
them about the rules and regulations of the college.

AWARENESS DRIVE ON COVID-19
Dated:June, 2020
Event Name: Awareness Drive on Covid-19
Description: In June 2020, students of final year Biotechnology
participated in the awareness drive on Covid-19 organized by NSS
club of St. Bede’s college, Shimla. Rupanshi Sharma, Riya Garg,
Alefia Jaret and Minal Chauhan of B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology IIIrd
year students made posters and videos depicting the importance of
wearing masks, washing hands regularly and social distancing during
the pandemic.
