PARKING: DAY 1: Team Parking – Front East Lot in front of Lovejoy High School. Teams drop off athletes in front of LHS Stadium and park in the Front East Lot. Spectators – West Parking lot in front of the LHS Indoor Facility. School will be in session during the day so parking will be limited. Spectators can park anywhere after 4:30 PM. DAY 2: Team Parking – West Parking lot in front of LHS Indoor Facility. Spectator Parking - any parking lot at LHS. CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be open on the south west corner of the stadium (home side). No food, sunflower seeds, or drinks other than water will be allowed on the football field. Water tanks will be stationed on the field, warm up/cool down area, and all field event areas. ATHLETIC TRAINERS: Athletic trainers will be available throughout the meet. Trainers will be set up near the Field House on the south side of the stadium. If your athlete needs a special treatment before or after their event, please contact Ms. Stevie Olivares, our head trainer at [email protected]. Each school is encouraged to bring their own training staff and supplies and can set up on south end of stadium. SPECTATORS: Designated viewing areas will be available at each field event for fans. Only athletes and coaches that are competing during any session are allowed in the jumping or throwing areas. Spectators will not be allowed in roped off area. WARM-UPS: The infield will be warm up area. Coaches will be allowed to be on the infield during races. Athletes will check in for each race at the check in tent on the field. All athletes must be in a team uniform to check in. When athletes check in, they will receive hip numbers for their next event. Athletes will then check in with the starting clerk near their respective starting areas.

CAMPS: Teams can set up camps on the visitor side bleachers or in north fields. No tents or team camps on the home side or infield. No loud noises or radios in camps. Please help us by making sure your campsite is clean. Thank you in advance for your help.

TRACK CARE: No chalk or athletic tape on track. Tennis balls or rubber markers are allowed on Track. Chalk or rubber markers may be used on runways and high jump area – no athletic tap.

AWARDS: All awards will be presented at the conclusion of the event at the awards podium. The top three will report as soon as possible to the award stand for the announcements of the award winners and the advancers to the Area 9-10 5A Championships. Varsity division is the only division that will advance to the Area meet, but JV award winners will also be recognized at awards podium.

District Chairman (McKinney ISD) shall purchase the Varsity District Championship trophies, JV District Championship Trophies, Varsity Runner-Up trophies, Varsity Relay Plaques for champions, and medals for the top three places per event (Varsity and JV Divisions Included).

FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT: Expenses incurred by the District 10-5A Executive Committee in organizing and implementing the district meet shall be prorated between each school.

OTHER REMINDERS: - Uniforms- school issue only, According to UIL regulations.

- Seniors may participate in JV - Meet Referee makes final decisions. - Games Committee: One designated member from each school who is not a current

track and field coach. School protesting an issue will not be allowed to vote on the appeal.

T-SHIRT SALES: District Track & Field t-shirts will be for sale on the home side near the concessions stand. Tee shirts are customizable by color, style, and what is printed on the front, back, and sides. The tee shirt design is below.

POINTS OF INTEREST CONCERNING FIELD EVENTS, RUNNING EVENTS, & MEET WORKERS JV – 4 attempts Varsity – 3 preliminary attempts – Top 8 to the finals – 3 finals attempts SHOT PUT/DISCUS: All shot and discus will be weighed and marked at the check in tent. Weigh in will start

at 8:00 AM and end at 9:30 AM. ALL shots and discs will be pooled at the competition site. Athletes will take their throws in order during each round of competition. (Two attempts in succession will not be permitted). Seeding will be in order with first 3 throws by mark submitted (lowest mark first – best mark last). JV athletes will be given 4 attempts and no finals. Top 8 competitors in Varsity Division will advance to the finals. Re-seeding in finals (8th – 1st) determined from first round of competition and 3 more attempts in finals. Ties will be broken by using the next best attempt out of all attempts in prelims and finals.

HIGH JUMP/ Athletes can weigh in and certify pole vault poles at the pole vault area from 8:00 AM POLE VAULT: to 9:00 AM. Seeding will be in order by mark submitted (lowest mark first – best mark

last) In case of a tie (High Jump and Pole Vault) for Area advancers, there will be a jump-off at the end of the competition. If there are multiple ties, the highest tie will have the jump off first followed by the next lowest tie until all ties are broken.

**Pole Vault Athletes** - will be required to have spikes checked at check in tent. Must

be ¼” pyramid spike only. Any other spike will not be allowed to compete. We will have extra spikes for purchase if needed for $5. This will help reduce damage to the pole vault runway.

LONG JUMP / Athletes will take their jumps in order during each round of competition. (Two TRIPLE JUMP: attempts in succession will not be permitted). Seeding will be in order by mark

submitted (lowest mark first – best mark last) with 3 jumps in the first round. JV athletes will be given 4 attempts and no finals. Top 8 competitors in Varsity Division will advance to the finals. Re-seeding in finals (8th – 1st), determined from first round of competition, and 3 more attempts. Ties will be broken by using the next best attempt out of all attempts in prelims and finals.

LANE ASSIGNMENTS: Preliminary running events will be evenly seeded for each heat. The winner from each prelims heat will advance to finals and then the next fastest times from all heats of that particular event. - Double waterfall start for 800M, 1600M and 3200M races – Top one third of runners placed in the top outside alley. Cones will be placed on the curve to serve as lane dividers.

Final relay events will be assigned lanes based on random drawing from coaches during the head coaches meeting on Tuesday April 2nd. Heat sheets will be available at the Head Coaches meeting on April 2nd, 2019 – 6:00 PM – Meeting Room in LHS Field House. Entries may be changed at the scratch meeting as long as the athlete is listed on the 5 Day Form.

RELAY CARDS: Relay teams must turn in Relay Card by 5:00 PM on Thursday April 5th – Meeting Room

in LHS Field House. SPECIFIC RUNNING EVENTS:

100M, 100M Hurdles, 110M Hurdles and 200M will be run with the wind in prelims and finals.
