Meet at Assembly Hall

Thursday, March 1 @ 6:00 pm

Doors open @ 5:00pm

Assembly Hall Kick Off:

Line of Descent Viewing of Warren Miller Film Snowriders are a family—one big tribe comprising of many smaller ones. Familial rites pass down through generations. Skier roots grow deep in high mountain soil. Line of Descent celebrates just that, the lineage of legendary athletes through a multi-generational cast of skiing’s icons and fresh faces, including Tommy Moe, Jonny Moseley, JT Holmes, Lexi duPont, Seth Wescott, Kalen Thorien, Marcus Caston, Jeremy Jensen, Griffin Post, and more.

Ride along on a stunning cinematic journey as we travel near and far, descending some of North America’s deepest lines in Jackson Hole, Mon-tana, Silverton, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, and Steamboat.

From powsurfer to splitboard, motorcycle, dogsled or snowmobile, watch as athletes chase winter along the Beartooth Pass, the French Alps, New Zealand, British Columbia, and Norway.

“This season, we explore how skiers are shaped by picking up a pair of skis for the first time,” notes producer Josh Haskins. “More often than not, it’s family who introduces us to the sport or steers us on the path towards an ongoing passion—be it a ski bum lifestyle, a professional ca-reer or simply the desire to pass on the same feeling to the next genera-tion. There is a kinship unlike any other in the ski community, and Warren Miller is the elder, bringing generations of skiers and riders together for 68 years, and this year is no different.”

KEYNOTE

Andrew Skurka: An adventure themed

slideshow

Assembly Hall

Friday, March 2 @ 7:00 pm

Andrew Skurka is an accomplished adventure athlete,

speaker, guide, and

writer. He is fortunate to

have made his

adventurous lifestyle into

an occupation.

Bio

Most well known for his solo long-

distance backpacking trips. Has

been named ‘Adventurer of the Year’ and ‘Person of the Year’ by Outside

and Backpacker Magazines. While traveling mega distances over rugged

terrain in relatively short periods of time, and enjoying that experience,

Skurka helped to define light and fast backcountry travel. When not hiking,

he dabbles in ultra-running. Skurka finds motivation in the qualitative

experience. For him it is about stepping outside his comfort zone and

learning about himself and the lands which he travels. At times the

experiences are uncomfortable, stressful, and even frightening - but the

resulting personal growth is ultimately worthwhile.

KEYNOTE

Hilaree O’neill: A mother, a

wife and the passion to explore!

Assembly Hall

Saturday, March 3 @ 7:00 pm

Hilaree O’Neill was born and raised in the Northwest. She

began skiing at the age of 3 at Stevens Pass in the Cascade

Mountains of Washington State. This led her to many

different adventures that she will delight us with!

Bio

Hilaree is the first woman to climb two 8,000m peaks

in 24 hours (Everest and Lhotse). She skied from the

Himalayan summit of Cho Oyu in Tibet and climbed

and skied several high peaks in Bolivia and Argentina.

Elsewhere, Hilaree has cut turns on remote volcanoes

in the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia, Mongolia,

Pakistan, Lebanon, as well as many first descents in

the tight couloirs of Baffin Island. In addition to her

work for The North Face, Hilaree is a mother to two

young boys, and although they have changed her life dramatically, her passion for the

mountains has not abated. She lives and works in Colorado but finds her sanity in

the San Juan Mountains.
