From the Council Key ThreeThe Longs Peak Council, Key Three are pleased to present to you, our partners and
shareholders in youth development, the 2014 Annual Report.
Thank you for your generous fi nancial support of Scouting in northern Colorado,
southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. It takes time, talent and treasures from
thousands of volunteers and supporters like you to provide the Scouting program to the
youth of our communities.
Scouting provides young people with a safe, structured and nurturing environment;
helps them learn and discover, while instilling strong moral values and a deeper
appreciation of family and community.
At the Longs Peak Council, our mission is: “To develop character, competence,
integrity and leadership in today’s youth through quality programs, outdoor experiences,
and service to community.” It is our vision to, “Prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s
challenges.”
We invite you to spend some time reviewing our 2014 Annual Report to see how the
Longs Peak Council is making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people in our
community.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, volunteer Scout leaders, and over 10,000 youth
members, we thank you for your investment in our Scouting programs. Your involvement
provides our community with future leaders, informed citizens, and provides young
people with the tools they need to overcome life’s challenges.
Again, thanks for your investment in Scouting. Your role is vital to the success of the
youth in our community and the entire Scouting program and we hope you will continue
to support us.
Yours in Scouting,
Gary Crum Dan J. Wilson John L. Coleman, Jr.

Youth ProgramsCub Scouting is a family and home centered program for boys in fi rst through fi fth grades. Cub Scouting’s emphasis is on quality, age-appropriate programs delivered at the neighborhood level.
Boy Scouting is a program for boys ages 11 to 17 and designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer-group leadership that builds character, independence, and values in young people.
Venturing is a co-ed program for young men and women ages 13 to 20. It includes challenging, high-adventure activities giving teenagers an opportunity to learn and grow in a fun, supportive environment.
Learning for Life is a co-ed, school-based program for youth in grades K through 12. Our Outdoor Education program brings students outdoors to experience personal growth and learn about the world around them.
Exploring is a division of Learning for Life that offers co-ed programs for teenagers focused on learning about specifi c career interests by mentoring with local businesses, professionals, and industry leaders.
Multicultural Scouting programs are offered to youth regardless of their circumstances, neighborhood or ethnic background. Youth in urban neighborhoods are often faced with many challenges, as they live in fragile families and disintegrating neighborhoods.
