Not only were there several members of the Color Guard present, ALL of the bar patrons attended as well. Speaking of Flags, I would at this time like to thank the Flag crew for put- ting up the Flags. They will remain up thru the 4th of July, taken down and will be back up for Labor Day. Thanks Wendell, Bill and Doug. The annual Clam Fest will be held on June 27th, noon to 5 PM. This is a great event that should not be missed. The list for summer horse shoes will be up this next week, those interested are encouraged to come in and sign up. Don't forget, this is your Post, only YOU can make a difference. News from the Troops I have received several requests asking for sun-block, powdered drink mixes, foot powder, healthy snacks, individual size fruit cups, Ramen Noodles, hard candy , gum, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving gel (not cream) aerosol NO CHOCOLATE. The troops don't ask for themselves, usually it is for someone who gets no care pkgs whatsoever, yes, that's true and when they get care pkgs they divide them up among themselves so some troops may not get very much, so I am asking all the members of Harvey J. Spire #787 , whether you are Legion, Sons, Legion Rider, or Auxiliary to please consider our troops and place something in the donation box. Let show them our Cicero NY support. Just a added note sometimes these requests do not come from the troops themselves ,it is from someone in command. Why not take a few minutes and sign a few Thank You cards and drop them off in the box, I will make sure they get sent out. In less than a month we will be celebrating Independence Day and we will be with family and friends ,our troops will not be home enjoying time with their family. Please no more magazines for now. Thank You, Rosemary Danielewicz-Troop Chairperson

Just a reminder – there are no Auxiliary meetings for the months of July & August. The next regular meeting will be September 1st at 7:00PM. Reminder to those who have signed up for the Wine Tour – if you only made a deposit on the trip – the rest of the money will be due by 9/11. If you need to cancel for any reason, please let either Tom or myself know as soon as possible so your spot may be filled. I am putting a new sign-up sheet on the board for anyone interested in being on the list in case of cancellations. I will be gone the week of 6/15-6/20 – but if you have any questions, you can contact me at the post on Tues & Thurs evenings after that. Everyone have a safe summer. Again – thanks to all for their support for the last two years and see ya round the post. Laureen Past Auxiliary President

The horseshoe league is going great come by Mondays and cheer for your team. The sons are still looking into a golf tournament for the fall more to follow soon. EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT SUMMER AND SEE YOU AROUND THE LEGION.

THANK YOUTHANK YOU Flag Detail Folks did a Great Job. Wendell Stewart, Bill Pellor, Doug DeRycke. There were more flags on the Streets than ever. Also, thanks go out to Marc Young for making many new flag holders … AWESOME JOB !!

We are thinking of holding a Theme Tray or also known as Chinese Auction Fundraiser but in order to do this we need the support of all our auxiliary members. Please let us know what your take is on this, we would like to be able to keep up with our donations to various charities but we need to put funds into the account if we are to continue. This can be a good fund-raiser but we need to call on all of our auxiliary members if this is to be successful. If every member donated 1 basket no mat-ter what size we could have an outstanding turnout. PLEASE won't you let us know your take on this. We need to work as a team and we really would appreciate your input. You can call me @699-5660 or email [email protected] or you can leave a note in the file. Meetings are important so won't you please consider com-ing to them, share your ideas. Thank You, Rosemary Danielewicz - Incoming President.
