TeEuropean Parliament has expressed grave concern overthe status of journalists in Montenegro, an EU hopeful.
Oliver Ivanovic, a leadingKosovo Serb politician,was arrested on suspicionof war crimes. While the crimes have not been publishedlocal newspapers say that Ivanovic is suspecting of havingtortured and murdered ethnic Albanians and organized theformer vigilante group Bridgewatchers. Te EuropeanUnion Rule of Law Mission is leading the investigationtransferring him to Pristina prison to be detained for onemonth while they pursue charges.
On Tursday, five formerexecutives of the Finnishcompany Patria wereacquitted in a Finnish court of bribing Slovenian officials inorder to secure sales of armored vehicles for the Slovenianarmy. Since 2006, when the bribery allegedly took place,Slovenian officials and Austrian consultants involved inthe deal have been convicted of corruption for acceptingbribes. A dispute has come betweenthe two constituent entitiesof Bosnia and Herzegovinaover who will carry the national flag at the Sochi Olympics.Te countrys Olympic committee initially selected skierZana Novakovic, from the Republika Srpska, based on herqualifying times. However, critics from the Federation ofBosnia and Herzegovina claim that skier Igor Lajkert had
better times and should be the one to carry the flag. Asof now, the committee has said they will not revise theirdecision.
