About Caddie Trailers

CADDIE TRAILERS Pty Ltd is an Australian company

based in Sydney.

We are the sole distributor of Challenger Trailers’

stunning luggage trailers throughout Australia and

New Zealand.

Though our head office is in Sydney, our aim is to

expand rapidly and offer you access to the trailers

Two years ago, the founders of CADDIE TRAILERS

realized that a need exist in the market for a premium quality, light weight, yet strong and capable

trailer.

During the last decade, the Australian and New Zealand car markets have been following the

worldwide trend of selling smaller and more fuel efficient cars.

At CADDIE TRAILERS, we worked hard and searched far and wide to find a trailer design which will

assist Aussies and Kiwis alike to adapt to this trend without compromising on the lifestyle that we

have all come to love.

Our first production facility will be based in

Sydney’s North West and will serve customers in

around the greater Sydney Metro.

As our delivery network is expanded in every

direction during 2012, we will gradually begin to

serve customers in all other Australian capitals as

well as Auckland, New Zealand.

About Challenger Trailers

Challenger Trailers Pty Ltd is a South African

company with its roots in the trailer design and

manufacturing industry and a history and heritage

that is over 60 years in the making.

Through the vision and leadership of 3 generations

of the well-known Venter family, this company has

grown to become the leading light trailer

manufacturer in South Africa, with a virtual

monopoly in a very competitive market.

The factory has developed, evolved and grown from a 1000 m2 premises, into the present world

class facility occupying more than 20,000 m2, yet the company still has its roots firmly planted in the

town of Naboomspruit (Mookgopong) in the Northern Province of South Africa, where it was

originally founded by Martin Venter.

Much of the development and design changes of

the most popular trailer in Challenger’s model

line-up, the “Light Steel Luggage trailer”, has

been driven by the constant feedback that

Challenger receives from it large customer base –

more than 500,000 trailers have been built at the

Naboomspruit factory during the last 60 years –

most of which are still in constant use on the

roads of Southern African.

In 2006 Challenger Trailers embarked on a

comprehensive modernisation of its factory

production methods investing in the latest production machinery from Germany.

This radically increased the quality in the production of the trailer components.

Simultaneously, Challenger upgraded and expanded its in-house design facility by investing in the

latest CAD software from Siemens Germany.

This has allowed full digital integration with the new production machinery which is required to

manufacture the highest quality, light weight, all steel luggage trailers suite to today’s modern cars.

Today Challenger Trailers is the largest and most cost efficient producer of light weight electro

galvanised steel luggage trailers on the African continent and its factory is the largest production

facility solely dedicated to light trailer production in the Southern Hemisphere!

The CADDIE ROADSTER Trailer

CADDIE TRAILERS are proud to present the ROADSTER.

The CADDIE ROADSTER trailer is a luggage trailer perfect for families that need additional luggage

space which is as secure and water tight as the boot of their car. Furthermore, is doesn’t add

significantly to your car’s fuel consumption and even offers enough space for the surf board.

The ROADSTER offers more than 1,000 litres of additional loading capacity (that is around twice as

much as the boot capacity of a Toyota Camry or Holden Commodore Sedan!), a maximum load of

600kg and - since the nose cone is an integral part of the loading area - items as long as 2.1m (7 foot)

can be loaded. And since the ROADSTER is supplied with its own roof rails as standard, you can

secure the surfboard or even a kayak on the trailer roof. A tailgate is included as standard and can be

opened1 to ease loading, unloading and cleaning of the trailer.

Luggage is easily accessible and unlike a car roof rack the CADDIE ROADSTER will not add

significantly to your car’s fuel consumption since the trailer will move within the car’s slipstream.2

The CADDIE ROADSTER is light weight and can be towed by some of the smallest and most fuel

efficient cars available in Australia including some models of Toyota Yaris, VW Polo and Mazda 2!

Built to fully comply with Australia Design Rules, the CADDIE ROADSTER is a premium trailer for

families big and small and is the ideal travel companion to the city car.

Notes: 1. The tailgate may be opened for loading, unloading or cleaning, but must remain closed when the trailer is being towed. 2. Fuel

consumption increase of less than 0.5 l/100km observed using a VW Polo 1.6 towing a fully loaded trailer.

produced model will have additional mud flaps and

be built according to Australian Design Rules.
