The Project guidelines

No PAS1192-2 2013…What do we need to deliver BIM?

Our Golden Rules document was the Project BIM Execution Plan

Level of Detail was defined by our knowledge of Sub Contractor requirements.

The BIM “savvy” design team needed little encouragement.


Collaboration

Collaborative workshops to drive solutions were held weekly at Ibsecad & HOK’s offices.

All stakeholders had representation at meetings


Design Validation Co-ordination

Challenge highlighted with HOK & MTT at one of the BIM workshops.

On Floor Heat Exchanger unit located in WC Core.

In order to carry out maintenance or to replace the unit a problem arose…


Design Validation The services were

positioned directly above the WC Cubicles.

The WC Cubicles were finished flush with the ceiling level.

In order to remove the equipment, complete cubicle removal would be required…


Design Validation Several solutions

were tested in the model.

Design team consulted at collaborative workshops.

Equipment and Attenuation re-selected to aid the final solution.

Final solution reached to suit MTT, HOK & FM team.

Development Working alongside Createmaster; their DOCUMENT

PARK software was enhanced to include a 3D Model route as well as the standard Asset Information.

Asset Information Model

Development Navisworks was the chosen navigation tool to

develop. Created a web browser “freedom” style version –

therefore Full license not required for the client’s FM Team.

The Product Fully integrated Model and online Document Park

system FM Team can now utilise the model to review

their planned works prior to leaving the office. Valuable man hours will be saved by utilising the

BIMSimply click in the model to be taken to that particular Asset information in the online Document Park.

This has bidirectional features to keep it simple…
