Amores 1.2It was not the custom in ancient Rome to give titles to poems. What would you call this one? Amores 1.2 lines 1-4 esse quid hoc dicam, quod tam mihi dura videnturstrata, neque in lecto pallia nostra sedent,et vacuus somno noctem, quam longa, peregi,lassaque versati corporis ossa dolent?

Tecta, hidden modifies arteTenues, slender modifies sagittae, arrowsPossessa modifies pectora, breast(heart) and ferus, savage modifies Amor. Notice the interlocked word order here. What is Ovids message? cedimus, an subitum luctando accendimus ignem?cedamus: leve fit, quod bene fertur, onus.
