Welcome to Second Grade!

Mrs. EssigHello! My name is Donna Essig. I will be your teacher this year. I would like to tell you a little bit about me and my family. I can’t wait to hear all about you!!

My Husband• My husband’s name

is Ernie. He is a teacher and football coach at Vestavia High School. He likes to play golf, read, watch Alabama football, and go to the beach.

My Daughter• My daughter’s name

is Emily. She is a teacher at HTMS. She graduated from The University of Alabama. Her husband’s name is Michael. He is a dentist. They just had a precious baby girl named Ellie Kate.

My Grandbaby• My grandbaby's

name is Ellie Kate. She is 2 months old. She likes to eat, sleep, and swing. She is beautiful!!

My Parents• My parents’

names are Richard and Missie Linn. They live in Trussville. My dad worked for Southern Railroad, and my mother worked for Hewitt Middle School.

My Dogs• Ernie and I have two

dogs. His dog is named Reagan. She is a wild boxer puppy. My dog is the best dog in the world. His name is McConaughey. He is a black Peek-a-Poo. He loves me and won’t leave my side. Both of our dogs like to play on the beach.

My Favorite Things• Here are a few things that I enjoy doing when

I am not at school…reading, shopping, going to the beach, watching Alabama football, and holding my new grandbaby.

My Favorite Music• My favorite band

is Sugarland! I went to their concert last year.

My Favorite Place• My favorite place to

travel to is St. George Island. This is an island off of the coast of Florida. We just bought a beach house there. I can’t wait to go back soon!
