Face the Speaker

Looking at the speaker is important to see how they are feeling and to read their social cues.

It also shows respect to the speaker. Facing the speaker demonstrates that you are paying attention.

Don’t Interrupt

•Saying Uh-huh or yes in between what the person is saying to show that you are listening.

Paying Attention Demonstration•Don’t look in other directions.•Don’t fidget.

Clarifying Questions

•Clarifying Questions help to fully understand what the person is saying.

•Asking these questions will help you to understand how they feel about what they are talking about.
