Definition of Assembly
An assembly item is one that is built from other components
KIT Assemblyassembly item does NOT have to be put together by your personnel
Assembly assembly items need to be built/fabricated by your personnel

KitsAs long as the components are in stock, the kit will be allocated to the orderYou can NOT enter free stock on kit header items

Assemblies/Kits will be priced on the order depending on what is setup in Assembly Maintenance
Pricing Options
Pricing Assemblies
By ComponentsHeader item price is based on component pricesComponent prices display on printed forms, no price displays next to header item Header item price cannot be edited in Order Entry, component prices can be edited
Pricing Assemblies
By Assembly Using ComponentsHeader item displays price based on components, but can’t be edited in Order EntryCan edit component prices in Order Entry Header item price displays on forms
Component prices do not print, BUT you can print components on forms
Pricing Assemblies
By Assembly Pricing based on Header item ONLYForms will NOT display component prices
Cost of Assemblies
Cost of the components is rolled up from the components
KitsAt Order Entry time the system rolls up each individual component’s cost to derive the kit cost
AssemblyAt Order Entry time the system takes the current header item’s Moving Average cost or FIFO layerThe Header’s items MAC or FIFO layer is updated when the Production Order is processed

If checked Assemblies can be entered on the fly. If NOT checked, Kits can be entered on the fly.

Enter Header Item.
NOTE: The item cannot exist in database already!
