a. Period 1 - 31 October 1953

(1) This batta.lion continued the development of defensive :)ositions

of the right battalion, right regimental sector. Im';Jrovement of camp stte

was continued.

(2) A routine da,y consisted of! work on the !fain Battle 2osition by

all hands of the letter and wea·)ons compa:)ies, The :'ain Battle ?osition was

manned 011 a 24 hour baSis Nith one-third (l/3) of the perso,nel.

(3) O.fficers and Staff non-co!Il'-!lissionecl. officers schools 'qe:re con-

ducted twice 1;-eekly. "'ortcr-seven (47) selecbd enlisted personnel were

assigned to such Division ,schools as f',.CO School, :~ine irfarfare School, and

Eachine Gun School. The Battalion Train'_ng Schedule (appendix II) was adhered

to b;r all bastal~on ~erso,nel. It is considered that Pe>ccellent on-the-job

t.raini~g resulted from t.he construction and imTJroverr.ents of fortifications

carried out on the c{ain Battle "'osition.
