At the opening of the perJ.oa., t:n1s Battalion remained in Division re­aerve camp conducting training on a 36 hour weekly achedule. In addition, daily patrols were di~tched to cover the ~attalion zone of re~oneib1lity for r~ar security, searching for possible guerrilla and infiltrator activity and destroyi114: shelters that could possibly be used by them for comfort and assembly points duri!lg the winter month••

On 11 December 1951, the Battalion departed with Regiment from Divi.. eion reserve CAmP ~~d re1ieved 2nd Battalion. 7th Marine: of thair s•ctor of the Division MLR along the area DT 2844[? to vr 32346s, Upon completion of the relief of ~d Battalion, 7th Marines, this Battalion, with all three lat­ter companies on line, continu.ed to organize, occu.p)' and defend poeitione on the HLR, &!d. prepared to attack on order.
