Social Story Selling

1. YOUR ACCOUNT BIO: Your Instagram biography (bio) is your first chance to show

followers who you are, what you do, and what value you can

add to their life. Be sure to include:

What you do (real estate agent, fitness coach, business coach, beauty promoter, etc.)

Contact info (via email, phone number, website, etc.)

Free value (content, videos, other social media posts, etc.)

2. YOUR CONTENT:This is your opportunity to share incredible value with

an image or video and a description. Here’s how you make

it count:

Are your posts branded?

Does the image add value?

Is the content unique/original?

Are your captions engaging?

Do you have a Call-to-Action?

Have you included relevant hashtags?

3. FOLLOWER ENGAGEMENTThe worst thing you can do on Instagram is not engage with

your followers. Here’s a checklist for things you can do to

increase that engagement:

Reply to the majority (if not all) of the comments on your posts.

Include something in your posts that encourages your followers to tag friends and comment on your posts.

Encourage followers to Direct Message you with any questions, comments, or concerns they may have.

4. YOUR POSTING SCHEDULE It is important to keep some consistency in your posting

schedule so that your following knows to keep an eye out

for your content, and learns to trust you for the regular

value you offer. Here’s how to create a posting schedule:

Create a spreadsheet to plan posts out in advance so that you always know what’s coming next

Make the majority of your posts unique/original content

Regularly repost things that have been posted by accounts similar to yours with larger followings (this will help with your own following)

5. YOUR INSTAGRAM STORYThis is where you can be very informal with your followers,

sharing more personality This is also where you can post

more videos and other content that might not otherwise

make it to your main feed. Here are some posting ideas:

Stories about personal connections

Stories about how you solved the pain points of your audience

Brief educational sessions via Instagram Live at least once a week on your area of expertise

Evidence that you practice what you preach
