‘Uthman bin ‘Affan reported:The Messenger of Allah said,“He who recites three times every morning and evening:Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma’as-mihi shai’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami’ul-’Alim(In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven,and He is the All-Hearing and All- Knowing)nothing will harm him.”

[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi]

وعن عثامن بن عفان قال : قال رسول هللا :

ما من عبد يقول يف صباح كل يوم ومساء كل ليلة :

بسم هللا الذي ال يرض مع اسمه يشء يف األرض وال يف السامء

وهو السميع العليم، ثالث مرات، إال مل يرضه يشء

‘Abdullah bin Khubaib reported:The Messenger of Allah said to me,“Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu’awwidhatain(Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas) three times at dawn and dusk. It will suffice you in all respects.”

Anas reported:The Prophet used to supplicate: Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-barasi, wal- jununi, wal-judhami, wa sayyi’il-asqami(O Allah! I seek refuge in You from leucoderma, insanity, leprosy and evil diseases.)

وعن أنس أن النبي كان يقول :

اللهم إين أعوذ بك من الربص والجنون، والجذام،

وسيئ األسقام

'Abdullah bin 'Umar reported:The Messenger of Allah used to supplicate: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matika, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatika, wa fuja'ati niqmatika, wa jami'i sakhatika (O Allah! I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your Favours, passing of safety, the suddenness of Your punishment and all that which displeases You.)

[Muslim]

وعن ابن عمر عنهام قال : كان من دعاء رسول هللا :

اللهم إين أعوذ بك من زوال نعمتك، وتحول عافيتك،

وفجاءة نقمتك، وجميع سخطك

(رواه مسلم)

5Supplication of Prophet Yunus

Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Sa'd narrated from his father, from Sa'd that the Messenger of Allah said,“The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was:La- ila-ha illa- anta subh. a-naka inni kuntu minaz. -z. a-limin(There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of the transgressors) So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.”

[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi]

د بن سعد، عن أبيه، عن سعد، قال قال رسول هللا عن إبراهيم بن محم

دعوة ذي النون إذ دعا وهو يف بطن الحوت ال إله إال أنت

سبحانك إين كنت من الظالمني . فإنه لم يدع بها رجل مسلم

ء قط إال استجاب الله له يف يش(رواه أبو داود والرتمذي)

Supplications in the morningand evening (1)6

'Abdu'r-Rahman ibn Abi Bakra reported that he said to his father, "I heard you making this supplication every morning:'O Allah, make me healthy in my body. O Allah, make me healthy in my hearing. O Allah, make me healthy in my sight. There is no god but You.' and repeat it three times in the evening and three times in the morning. You say, 'O Allah, I seek refuge with You from disbelief and poverty. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave. There is no god but You,' and you repeat it three times in the evening and three times in the morning." He replied, “Yes, my son. I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say them and I like to follow his sunnah."

[Hasan (Al-Albani)]

ثني عبد الرحمن بن أب بكرة، أنه قال ألبيه: حد

يا أبت، إن أسمعك تدعو كل غداة :

اللهم عافني يف بدن، اللهم عافني يف سمعي، اللهم عافني

يف بصي، ال إله إال أنت، تعيدها ثثالثا حني تس، وحني

تصبح ثثالثا، وتقول : اللهم إن أعوذ بك من الكفر والفقر،

اللهم إن أعوذ بك من عذاب القب، ال إله إال أنت، تعيدها

، سمعت ثثالثا حني تس، وحني تصبح ثثالثا، فقال : نعم، يا بني

، وأنا أحب رسول الله صىل الله عليه وسلم يقول بهن

.أن أست بسنته (حسن (األلباين))

7Supplications in the morningand evening (2)

Ibn 'Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah did not omit saying the following words in the morning and evening:'O Allah, I ask you for well-being in this world and the Next.O Allah, I ask you for forgiveness and well-being in my deen and in this world and in my family and my property. O Allah, veil my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, give me protection in front of me and behind me, on my right and my left and above me. I seek refuge by Your might from being overwhelmed from under me.' "

[Sahih (Al-Albani)]

ابن عمر يقول :

لم يكن رسول هللا يدع هؤالء الكلامت إذا أصبح وإذا أمس:

نيا والخرة . اللهم إن أسألك اللهم إن أسألك العافية يف الد

العفو والعافية يف ديني ودنياي، وأهل ومال . اللهم است

عورات، وآمن روعات . اللهم احفظني من بني يدي ومن خلفي،

وعن ييني وعن شامل، ومن فوقي، وأعوذ بعظمتك من أن

.أغتال من تحتي (صـحـيـح (األلباين))

8The End of Surah al-Baqarah at night

Abu Mas'ud Al-Badri reported:I heard the Prophet saying,"He who recites the two Ayat at the end of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him."

وعن أب مسعود البدري عن النبي :

" من قرأ باليتني من آخر سورة البقرة يف ليلة كفتاه "

لم يلد ولم يولد

Mina aljinnati wa alnnasm

Surah Al-IkhlasSurah Al-FalaqSurah An-Nas

Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,

Allah, the Eternal Refuge.

He neither begets nor is born,

Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak

From the evil of that which He created

And from the evil of darkness when it settles

And from the evil of the blowers in knots

And from the evil of an envier when he envies."

Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

The Sovereign of mankind.

The God of mankind,

From the evil of the retreating whisperer -

Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -

From among the jinn and mankind."

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."
