The CSI² -

Congregational School Improvement Initiative

How many of you went to Hebrew school?

Total: 6,764 children

In 2010-11 Federation

provided over 1.2 million dollars

to congregations for Jewish education.

$639,000 for school scholarships through the annual campaign and challenge funds

$100,000 for the Teen Mission

$89,000 from the Berman Fund for funding family Jewish educators in congregations

$36,000 for placing special needs educators in the schools

$23,000 for teen informal education through the Schulman Fund

$23,000 in teacher professional growth stipends through the Nirim program

$15,000 for family education grants through the Berman Fund

$132,000 to fund the CSI2

systemic change initiative

• Currently there are nine congregations involved in CSI² • Six congregations are in year two of the three year process • Three congregations are just beginning year one.

• Through CSI2 over 185 teachers are

receiving deep professional development.

• All told the CSI2 initiative will impact 2,700

congregational school students.
