Instagram 101GETTING STARTED FOR LIBRARIES

CreateCREATE A PROFILE NAME THAT YOU CAN USE ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS.

1. Open https://www.instagram.com2. Enter email address, name, username and password. 3. Click on sign up. 4. Sign in to your email address. 5. Confirm email address.

Hashtags: What you need to know.

-Hashtags are phrases or words preceded by a #(hash) key that makeyour content discoverable. (e.g #ChampaignPublicLibrary)

-They are Instagram's sorting cabinet, tap the hashtag after you have postedand you will see content related to the hashtag.

-Take a photo, add a caption and hashtag before posting.(e.g #LibraryLove).

-You can use up to 30 tags on a post. If you include more than 30 tags on a single photo/video, your comment won't post.

-Keep them relevant to the topic and to aminimum, we use 10 or less per post for a cleaner look.
