SLOW YOUR ROLL.

IS SOCIAL RIGHT FOR YOU?

• Do your customers use it? (Most likely yes.)

• How do you interact with your customers now? How will social fit in?

• Do you have time?

CHOOSE YOUR VICTIM

• Understand your customer:• Who are you talking to?

Age, gender, location.• What are they interested in?• What problem does your

product/brand solve for them?

PICK YOUR POISON

• Which social networks are right for your brand?

• You don’t have to be everywhere to see benefits.

HOW TO BE A TOOL

ANNOY YOUR FRIENDS & CUSTOMERS

• Spam your friends to grow your follower count.

• Care only about the number of followers you have.

TALK ABOUT YOURSELF

• Customers are only following you to hear about you, anyway.

• Don’t bother being human. You’re a business!

BE LAZY

• Auto-post to every social network. It’s easy!

• Don’t respond to anyone. • Don’t promote your social

channels on your site, email, etc.

• Indulge in like- and click-baiting.

HOW NOT TO BE A TOOL

DON’T JUST WING IT• Do some market research

• Explore social on a personal account• Try some things! Twitter chats, Google

Hangouts.• Build your own personal profile (but

DON’T BE A TOOL).

• Combine this knowledge with your customer profile and preferred networks to decide what will work best for you.

THIS IS IMPORTANT: PLAN
