• Special project created in JIRA for initiating changes or new features to STBso Tracked all engineering

attachments to JIRA issues Documents written and saved

locally and uploaded to JIRA issue

Engineers would each add their piece and then reattach to JIRA

BUT improvement was still needed …

WHERE WE STARTED

• Lack of interest in using SharePoint• Need for collaborative

documentation development• Need to relate this documentation to

issues in JIRA• Need to get the documents attached

in JIRA issues out and into a central location providing:o Version Controlo Easy accesso Easy administrationo Ability to collaborate and provide instant

HOW CHANGE BEGAN

• Imported WIKI to Confluence• Acronyms and Terms • Set up team global spaces• Created project pages spanning

Infrastructure/Operations, Software development, and Test

• Began writing software specifications in Confluence

• Used Confluence for project meeting minuteso Tracked non-development tasks by

means of Confluence• Piloted company social networking

through Confluence• Wrote help screen content for

internally-developed tools in Confluence
