MISSION STATEMENT
To afford the opportunity for every youth (boy and girl) to learn, play, enjoy and excel at Lacrosse while
honoring the game and respecting their coaches, officials,
teammates and opponents.
Chesapeake Bandits history Founded in 2006 by Mate Pate, Chuck Miller and Steve Notarnicola One of 10 “areas” of youth lacrosse in Hampton Roads “HRLax”
HRLax is a chapter of USLacrosse (the governing body of lacrosse in America) HRLax includes youth boys, youth girls, high school boys, high school girls and post collegiate
There are nearly 2000 total lacrosse players in Hampton Roads
Youth players range from 5 – 14 Feed three Chesapeake high school programs (Grassfield, Hickory, and Great Bridge) Games span from early March to mid-May with post season play running well into
June. All areas play at the same venue to accommodate all teams and cut down on travel
for families. Fastest growing lacrosse area in Hampton Roads
2006: approx 15 youth 2007: approx 35 youth 2008: approx 60 youth 2009: 104 youth 2010: 138 youth 2011: 152 youth, with registrations still incoming
NOTE: numbers are for boys only, 2011 currently has 22 girls youth registered.
