R.E.R.E. 1873-19431873-1943 Briscoe combined technical accuracy with aesthetically pleasing and balanced effects specialising in etchings and watercolours.

He excelled as a marine artist, his sketches being evocative of the last days of square-rigged sailing ships, Dutch craft, the coast of East Anglia and fishing fleet of Brixham.
