WARNINGLIGHTSANDCHIMES

Warninglightscanalertyoutoavehicleconditionthatmaybecomeseriousenoughtocauseexpensiverepairs.Awarninglightmayilluminatewhenaproblemexistswithoneofyourvehicle’sfunctions.Manylightswillilluminatewhenyoustartyourvehicletomakesurethebulbworks.Ifanylightremainsonafterstartingthevehicle,refertotherespectivesystemwarninglightforadditionalinformation.

Serviceenginesoon:TheserviceenginesoonindicatorilluminateswhentheignitionisfirstturnedtotheonpositiontocheckthebulbandtoindicatewhetherthevehicleisreadyforInspection/Maintenance(I/M)testing.Normally,theserviceenginesoonindicatorwillstayonuntiltheengineiscranked,thenturnitselfoffifnomalfunctionsarepresent.However,ifafter15secondstheserviceenginesoonindicatorblinkseighttimes,itmeansthatthevehicleisnotreadyforI/Mtesting.SeetheReadinessforInspection/Maintenance(I/M)testingintheMaintenanceandSpecificationschapter.

Solidilluminationaftertheengineisstartedindicatestheon-boarddiagnosticssystem(OBD-II)hasdetectedamalfunction.RefertoOn-boarddiagnostics(OBD-II)intheMaintenanceandSpecificationschapter.Ifthelightisblinking,enginemisfireisoccurringwhichcoulddamageyourcatalyticconverter.Driveinamoderatefashion(avoidheavyaccelerationanddeceleration)andhaveyourvehicleservicedimmediatelybyyourauthorizeddealer.

Ifthebrakesystemwarninglightdoesnotilluminateatthistime,seekserviceimmediatelyfromyourauthorizeddealer.Illuminationafterreleasingtheparkingbrakeindicateslowbrakefluidlevelandthebrakesystemshouldbeinspectedimmediatelybyyourauthorizeddealer.

WARNING:Drivingavehiclewiththebrakesystemwarninglightonisdangerous.Asignificantdecreaseinbraking

ClimateControls

CABINAIRFILTERYourcabinairfilterislocatedbehindtheinstrumentpanel.Thecabinairfilterelementisdesignedtoreducetheconcentrationofairborneparticlessuchasdust,sporesandpollenintheairbeingsuppliedtotheinteriorofthevehicle.Thepresenceofaparticulatefilterelementprovidesthefollowingbenefits:

•Improvesyourdrivingcomfortbyreducingparticleconcentration.•Improvestheinteriorcompartmentcleanliness.•Protectstheclimatecontrolcomponentsfromparticledeposits.Note:Acabinairfiltermustbeinstalledatalltimestopreventforeignobjectsfromenteringthesystem.Runningthesystemwithoutafilterinplacecouldresultindegradationordamagetothesystem.Ifyourvehicleisnotequippedwithacabinairfilter,aprotectivescreenhasbeenprovidedinitsplaceandmustremaininstalledatalltimes.

4.Locatetheverticaladjusteroneachheadlamp.UsingaPhillips#2screwdriveror13mmwrench/socket,turntheadjustereitherclockwise(toadjustdown)orcounterclockwise(toadjustup).Thehorizontaledgeofthebrighterlightshouldtouchthehorizontalreferenceline.

5.Closethehoodandturnoffthelamps.

Yourvehiclemaybeequippedwithtwointegratedkeyheadtransmitters(IKTs).Thekeybladeisusedtostartthevehicleandunlock/lockthedriver’sdoorfromoutsidethevehicle.Thetransmitterportionfunctionsastheremoteentrytransmitter.

YourIKTsareprogrammedtoyourvehicle;usinganon-programmedkeywillnotpermityourvehicletostart.IfyouloseoneorbothofyourIKTs,replacementsareavailablethroughyourauthorizeddealer.StandardSecuriLock�keyswithoutremoteentrytransmitterfunctionalitycanalsobepurchasedfromyourauthorizeddealerifdesired.
