15 November 2015 —2nd Sunday before Advent
Welcome to worship!
Please stay and join us after the service for refreshments!
Let’s Sing! Thursday evenings at
7.30pm—all welcome!
Dear All,
First some good news about ministry. The Bishop has appointed Mr Ian Howard to be part-time assistant curate here after ordination next summer. Please pray for him as he prepares for this move. He is currently a teacher at Christ’s Hospital School in Horsham. He hopes to find part-time paid work in local schools as he will be working for us as a “Self-Supporting Minister”.
Now Linda Cox writes:
The Christmas Fayre is NEXT SATURDAY.
Please refer to the sign up sheet or see Linda or Sandie if you're not sure where you can help.
The day before… We will be setting up on Friday night from 5.30pm, this will involve moving of chairs, putting out tables, putting up sign-age, blowing up balloons for out the front, deco-rating the foyer, setting up the grotto, lots of help would be much appreciated and make it a quicker job. Plants and cakes can also be dropped off up until about 6.30pm.
On the day… Stall holders/helpers please be setting up your stall from 10.00am on Sat, ready for a 12 noon start, opened by Town Mayor Lyn Little. Please price up all your items, and please plan to help clear up afterwards. Thanks everyone, it should be a great day.
There'll be a cafe area around the hatch and organ, so we want to encourage people to stop for a cuppa, enjoy a cake or two, and hopefully go round again and spend a bit more! Jesus, however, helps us through.
Pray for a sense of community, pray for people to feel welcomed and for God's bless-ing to be on the whole event. Linda Cox
Please invite people to come with you to this event. Best wishes Rev Bill Blakey
Our vision is to be a growing church, rooted in Christ, that reaches out with love and service to the whole community.

The collection for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal was £613. Thank you. New carpeting will be laid in the Old Chancel and Meeting Room areas on 1 and 2 December. We need your help to clear the floor space. Please can those who are able-bodied stay behind after the service on 29 November to help. See Mike for more information. If you would like a ticket for Christmas Unwrapped” - a carol service with speaker Canon J John—taking place at Witney Methodist Church (7.30pm) on Tuesday, 1 December please see Linda W (first come/first served).
