Investing in buy to let property 'a good idea' at the moment
People looking for a possible property in-vestment opportunity at the moment mayfind that purchasing buy to let property canoffer significant gains in the medium to longterm, according to one expert.
Hazel Reed, co-founder of the Hampshire &Home Counties Property Networking Club,said that being a buy to let property owner isperhaps not as easy as it was four years ago,but there is still a gap in the market for savvyinvestors.
Her comments followed an announcementby the National Landlords Association, whichwelcomed the recent increase in buy-to-letproducts, but stressed that they need to besustainable.
Ms Reed said it was almost "too easy" to be-come a buy to let investor in the past, whichis why many people left the market soon af-ter entering it.
“But I think if you're professional about it,[and if] you take care with what sort of prop-erties you get and you get good lettingagents, you can still get properties and mort-gages. You've got to work a bit harder at it,"she explained.
The expert added that the fact that so manypeople are struggling to access the propertyladder and therefore being forced to rentshows that demand will be there for peoplewho invest in a buy to let property.
