In 2010, Cedar Fair wanted to expand Camp Snoopy, a popular area of three of their parks (Worlds of Fun, Valley-Fair, and Dorney Park), into a larger and heavily themed area and rebrand it as - Planet Snoopy. Zamperla was awarded the challenge to supply twen-ty new family friendly rides to all three parks.Planet Snoopy was a complete make-over, converting an existing wilderness themed area into a space age land fi lled with bright colors and Peanuts themed décor. By theming Zamperla’s most popular rides with bold colors and spe-cial Peanuts theming, each ride was tai-lored to tie in with the motifs and colors that give Planet Snoopy a brand new, unique look and feel.

With the opening of Planet Snoopy marked the debut of a brand new Zam-perla attraction, The Aerial Ride. Families (up to 4) are seated in a rock-et-themed, self-propelled gondola that glides along an elevated beam to give families a bird-eye-view of Planet Snoopy. In each park, the Aerial Ride needed to have a custom designed track layout in order to fi t the unique layout of that location. The Aerial Ride doesn’t just provide riders with an ex-cellent view of the park, it really serves as an anchor to these areas of each park and rounds out the overall feel of Planet Snoopy. Making Planet Snoopy feel like it is a park within a park.


Zamperla is proud in giving Snoopy and the Peanuts gang a new home where

rockets glide, kites fl y, balloons soar, and so much more with the opening of Planet Snoopy.

This year, Zamperla as-sured that Coney Is-land visitors will hear

more than the sound of the ocean from the boardwalk with the opening Scream Zone.

Located just around the corner from Luna Park, Scream Zone in-troduced four new attractions, including two new coasters, and it really lived up to its name.

A fan-favorite attraction at Scream Zone is the Volare Coaster (Soarin’ Ea-gle). Zamperla wanted to reintroduce the Volare as a premier coaster by giving it a makeover that would maximize rid-er comfort. Adding additional padding provides rider stability during inver-sions, while reducing padding around the front of the carriage. These changes really make an impact and they give guests already familiar to the coaster a totally new riding experience.“The updates made to the Volare at Coney Island are a vast improvement” – Robb Alvey, owner of Theme Park Re-view (www.themeparkreview.com) “the new gondola makes the ride much more comfortable!”The other star attraction of Scream Zone is Zamperla’s Motocoaster (Stee-plechase), a compact launch coaster that races guests from 0-40 mph in un-der two seconds.

Zamperla knew that this ride would be a perfect fi t bring elements from Coney Island’s history, a popular ride with the same moniker. Swapping out the them-ing on the coaster train (motorbikes) that comes standard on the Motocoast-er, and replacing it with a team of rac-ing horses (complete with riding boots), the Steeplechase really gives guests the feeling of racing in the Kentucky Derby! Guests that are looking for a different kind of excitement are certain to enjoy

the ‘Zenobio’, Zamperla’s Turbo Force. Zenobio answers the question of ‘what does it feel like to ride on the edge of a windmill?’! At over one-hundred and twenty feet, moving riders at a speed of 60mph, the Zenobio summersaults riders in both a clockwise and counter-clockwise direction. At Scream Zone, this attraction not only draws riders in looking for a thrill, it also entertains spectators from the ground.
