A National Workshop on Psychological Test Construction and Application was organized on

March 2011 by the Department of Teacher Education. Various eminent educationists,
teachers, research scholars and students attended the Seminar.

A two day UGC Sponsored National Seminar on “Reinventing Teacher Education: Concepts
and Challenges” was organized by Teacher Education Department, Bareilly College, Bareilly
on March 24th
-25th
March2012.
On day 1 of the Seminar, Prof. Poonam Agrawal Head DERPP NCERT ( Chief Guest),New
Delhi, Prof.Aejaz Masih ( Keynote Speaker)Head Dept. of Education, Jamia Milia Islamia,New
Delhi,Prof. Girijesh Kumar, Dept.of Education,MJPRU Bareilly,Prof..H.S.Bais, Retd. Prof. of
Education, G.V.V.S, Sagar, by Prof.R.K.Srivastava, H.N.B. Garhwal University, Dr. Nisha
Singh, Deputy Director, IUC, IGNOU, New Delhi shared their views on various issues pertinent
to the current teacher education scenario.
On day 2 of the Seminar, many other prominent educationists such as , Prof. Shashi Kiran
Pandey,H.N.B. Garhwal University, ShriNagar Campus, Prof.R.C. Nautiyal, Dean Faculty of
Education HNB Garhwal University, Prof. R.K.Srivastava H.N.B. Garhwal University, Prof.

Delhi shared their views with the audience.

ICT Workshop
A departmental level workshop is organized annually for the benefit of the teachers and the
students of the Department of Teacher Education.
Guest Lectures
The Department organizes Guest lectures by experts from various fields related to Teacher
Education wherein the students get an opportunity to enrich their knowledge base.

Orientation Programme
The department organizes Orientation Programme for the B.Ed./ M.Ed. students to familiarize
them with the academic/ co-curricular activities undertaken by the department.

Mentor Groups
The mentor groups were set up to aid the students from diverse
backgrounds in realizing their full potential. Mentoring acts a means to
support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order
that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve
their performance and become the person they want to be, a powerful
personal development and empowerment tool.
Clubs
Cyber Club
The Cyber Club was established with a view to improve the ICT
skills of the B.Ed., M.Ed. students and make all students IT
savvy.
Social Services Club / Joy of Giving Club
The Social Service Club and Joy of Giving Club were established
to encourage students towards greater participation in social causes.
B.Ed. and M.Ed. students being the teachers of tomorrow, it is
imperative that they develop into wholesome, empathic individuals
and hence the need to involve them in social services and greater
community participation.
Literary Club
The Literary Club was started to encourage our students to develop a taste for
literature and also work towards improving their spoken as well as written
language skills, both in English and Hindi. The Literary Club is involved in a
variety of activities aimed at building up the confidence and improving the
oratorical skills of students.
Performing Arts Club
The Performing Arts Club has been set up with a view to
encourage students for greater participation in activities like dance,
music, drama etc.
Red Ribbon Club
The Red Ribbon Club was established to help in creating greater awareness
among the youth regarding AIDS and help in the National AIDS Control
Programme (NACP). It strives to encourage voluntary blood donation, work
towards HIV & AIDS prevention among the youth and creating awareness
among the uneducated.
