Beau Monde Welcomes You! Wondering what Beau Monde is? Beau Monde is an association involving The Art Institute of Indianapolis students just like yourself. We are an organization that fosters fellowship among students and gives back to the community. We welcome you to the school and we invite you to come to one of our monthly all member meetings. If you are a returning student--great--it’s never too late to join. We welcome everyone with open arms. We meet the second Wednesday of every month to discuss upcoming events, workshops, and fundraisers. WHAT’S BEEN GOING ON WITH BEAU MONDE This quarter busy for Beau Monde. We custom made head bands to sell during our fall sale along with dyed cosmetic bags, ties, jewelry pouches, and pashmenias. For the time ever, we sold candy grams to be delivered during week 10 and to our surprise, we sold around 100 grams! In October, Ai Indy’s 2nd Annual Fashion Show took place downtown at the Scottish Rite Cathedral This fashion show showcased both Fashion Design and Fashion and Retail Management students who competed in different categories. Some of the categories were a stylist project, evening wear, knitwear, and senior collection. Beau Monde member Amy Ridgon’s garment won 2nd place in the evening wear category. Amy’s inspiration was the “marriage of men’s and women’s evening wear. For Fashion and Retail Management, students were asked to create a concept that would create an editorial fashion spread. Beau Monde’s President, Katherine Justice’s stylist project was one of five that was featured that night. We look forward to next year’s competition featuring more Beau Monde Members.
