William Blake: A History LessonBorn on Nov. 28, 1757 in

London.Left school at age 10 to

attend the Henry Pars Drawing Academy, where he learned to be an engraver and poet.

Lived during the French Revolution (1789-99), which affected his works, and so did the poverty he saw every day.

During his lifetime, a few people thought him to be insane due to his beliefs (radical for that time period—in their defense, he kind of made up his own mythology).

Blake regarded the Bible to be the most perfect form of poetry, but generally he did not agree with most conventional religious views.
