Role of Regional IICC WHO/EURO

IICC has played a strong role in;– support of polio eradication and diphtheria control,– towards sustainable immunization programmes in many

countries there is a clear need for its continued (new and

enlarged) role, to strengthen various aspects of routine immunization services

critical in providing and coordinating support and overseeing commitment to national immunization programmes in general

To provide a facilitative tool to tackle major immunization challenges– improved access to sustainable

immunization services– expand use of all existing cost-effective

vaccines– accelerated development and introduction

of new vaccines

New and larger roles in supporting governments to improve and expand national immunization programmes
