SYNOPSIS

Juan and Magdalena live together in an old apartment, surrounded by ever ything they need for their daily activities. Nevertheless these are precisely the objects that distract them, making them transit into oneir ic worlds and dream scenarios. Bottles, pots, spoons and other elements – which at first do not seem to be significant – come alive in the hands of the protagonists .

Suddenly the audience discovers the oddness of the quotidian: behind the objects and situations that seem “normal”, there are a series of hidden possibilities of sounds and materials that will take them into another dimension.

THE PROJECT- COMBINING DISCIPLINES… Circus, music and mapping.

“What seemed like a normal day” is a project of contemporary circus ar t with a multidisciplinar y nature, mixing music (made with everyday objects), illustration and multimedia (mapping). Circus is present through the incorporation of balance exercises and work with bouncing balls which in this context become real percussive instruments: they are thrown, tapped and bounced off different surfaces, generating countless different sounds. The montage raises questions about the value we give to our private space nowadays. In which moments do we allow room for our dreams? How do our

thoughts flow in loneliness? “Through the staging of this intimate and commonplace

sphere, the project rescues the simple things, the details and those utopias that make our creativity flourish, allowing us uncensored dreaming”, says Director Juan Pablo Corvalán.

He adds: “Home is the place where you feel most comfor table, giving free rein to the imagination, where it is possible to create and

ramble. That is why we locate these characters in this place. The play is an invitation to dream

and imagine freely; a utopia of freedom and the absence of boundaries”.
