Transcript of WERRINGTON COUNT Y - werringcty-p.schools.nsw.gov.au€¦ · Jersey Day Tell Them From Me This...
As we come to the end of a very busy term our successes have continued to come from all areas. Congratulations to our athletes and to all our students who were rewarded for attaining their silver awards. Congratulations to our SRC who have organised our jersey day and have chosen a very worthy cause to support.
Our media team continue to display their talents in filming, choreographing and are now involved in doing the final editing of our ‘County Colour’ video. Ensure you like our Facebook page to enable you to witness the astounding talent of our students.
Our calendar of events for Term 4 are included with this newsletter. While very sparse at this stage we await the Department of Education and Health to release the guidelines for safe operation of our school during Term 4. You will also notice a lot of events are TBC (to be confirmed). While these should take place, in what form or when will be decided as soon as possible. Planning for 2021 It is that time of year that we start making plans for the 2021 school year. This year we are expecting around 50 Kindergarten enrolments. We would like to start our planning of classes and staffing for the 2021 year. Thank you to those who have returned the survey. Kindergarten Enrolments Enrolments for Kindergarten for 2021 are now being taken. The child needs to turn 5 by the 31st July, 2021 to be eligible to enrol.
Parents or caregivers need to fill out an enrolment form, available from the school’s office, and provide the original copy of their child’s birth certificate and immunisation report. Also required is proof of address which can be clarified by ringing the school office. If you have a neighbour or friend in the area whose child is eligible for enrolment please let them know of these arrangements or get them to ring the school.
Tracie Duclos Principal School Jackets in the office We have several unclaimed, near new school jackets in varying styles being held in the office. None of them have names for us to identify their owners. Please check to see if your child is missing their jacket and contact the office. We have placed our lost property trolley outside the school gate each afternoon. It is chock-o-block full of items. Please check this trolley as all items will be donated if not collected by Friday.

Jersey Day
Tell Them From Me
This Term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement. Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school. These include: communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements. The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. The survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey will be conducted over Term 3 and early Term 4. Although participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated. More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au. To access the survey for our school go to:

Gymnastics
Our Gymnastics Program will take place in Term 4. Our main day is Monday, as stated in our calendar. We do have extra sessions booked so that we have smaller numbers in the Hall at the one time. These days are yet to be confirmed.
The SRC committee have organised a fundraising event for Werrington County Public School. On Wednesday 23rd of September we are asking that you wear your favourite ‘sports jersey’ and to bring a gold coin to be donated in support of the Kids Help Line which was nominated by our SRC committee. The Kids Help Line is Australia’s only free, private and confidential phone and online counselling service for young people ages 5 to 25. Children and young people need us more than ever. The kids help line changes and saves lives.
