News from the Lake Keepit Excursion
Having spoken to Mr Kurtz this morning it appears that the students are having a great time
despite the rain and the dust storm yesterday.
So far they have enjoyed archery and rock climbing and yesterday they
remained inside most of the day because of the dusty conditions
and participated in rope activities and Initiatives, which are problem
solving activities.
Mrs Mutton who was at Lake Keepit on Monday and Tuesday nights said that the students
have enjoyed some nice food and that the students were looking forward to getting out on
the lake today.
Mr Kurtz said today was a lovely day and that the students would be
going kayaking and having a cook-out later in the day where they
would be cooking damper etc.
There will be some photos from the Lake Keepit excursion appearing
in next week’s newsletter.
Debating against Werris Creek Public School
Next Tuesday, 29th September four of our students will be involved in a debate against
Werris Creek Public School at Werris Creek. The students involved are Alannah Penfold,
Sophie Cooper, Shelby Botfield-Mohr and Emily Trewern.
The topic for debate is “Technology rules our lives” and we are the affirmative.
Regional Athletics Carnival
The Regional Athletics Carnival set down for last Tuesday had to be called off at 11.00 am
due to the dangerous conditions of the grounds due to the rain.
The carnival has now been rescheduled for Monday, 28th September to commence at 9.00
am. Results of the events that were concluded before the postponement will stand. The
girls High Jump events and the 11, 12 and 13 years 100m finals will commence at 9.00 am.
The carnival will then continue as per the original program.
We wish our participating students, who will now be able to compete, best of luck in their
events.
